Horizontal scaling involves increasing the number of nodes in the cluster, thereby enhancing the system's ability to handle a higher volume of transactions or data processing across multiple servers. This method is often used to improve redundancy and availability as well.
Both vertical and horizontal scaling are crucial strategies used to adapt to changing organizational needs, ensuring that systems remain efficient and responsive as demand fluctuates.
1. Renewal Terms: Software contracts often include an auto-renewal clause where the agreement automatically renews for a subsequent term unless one party provides notice of non-renewal within a specified period before the contract expires. This period can vary but is commonly 30 days prior to the end of the current term.
2. Cancellation Terms:
Cancellation policies typically allow either party to terminate the agreement under certain conditions. Common reasons include breach of contract, failure to pay, or bankruptcy. Termination can be immediate or require notice, depending on the severity of the breach.
3. Notice Requirements: Notice of non-renewal or cancellation typically must be given in writing. The specifics of how to deliver this notice (e.g., via email or postal mail) are usually outlined in the contract terms.
4. Financial Obligations Upon Cancellation: Contracts often specify any financial obligations upon cancellation, such as settlement of outstanding fees or penalties for early termination. These penalties might be calculated based on the remaining contract value or as a fixed fee.
5. Handling of Data Post-Termination: The contract might specify how the customer's data is to be handled after the contract ends. This could include data return, deletion, or conversion to a format usable by the customer.
6. Adjustments and Modifications: Contracts may include terms that allow for adjustments to the agreement, such as price changes or changes to the scope of services, which could affect renewal terms.
