In 2018 I wanted to implement CRM software for my sales team and I was unaware which software would be the right fit for my organization. I searched on Google and approached a few CRM companies that appeared on the first two or three pages – which were heavily optimized and did not cater to my industry. Eventually, I went with a company that had been advertised on multiple websites as the best CRM of 2018. After multiple weeks of meetings and demos, the CRM company connected me to a system integrator who was in charge of the implementation. Little did I know that they had not done an implementation for a sales team in my industry - it took them 4 months to create a basic and simple CRM process. One year and several dollars later I realized that such a robust CRM does not suit my needs. The CRM implementation had failed due to the lack of information, poor system integrators, and wrong staffing.
