IRIS Clarity

IRIS Audio Technologies is a London-based audio AI company focused on real‑time voice isolation and noise removal across live calls, IVAs, and post‑call analytics. Its flagship product, IRIS Clarity, deploys as a desktop app or SDK to clean audio bi‑directionally, improving customer experience metrics and analytics accuracy. The firm positions itself at the intersection of speech processing, VoIP enhancement, and CX technology, with distribution through marketplaces like Genesys AppFoundry and Talkdesk AppConnect.

IRIS was founded in 2018 by Jacobi Anstruther, who set the mission to “enable the world to Listen Well” and bring premium, AI‑driven audio experiences to digital communications. The company’s journey emphasizes R&D in extreme environments (e.g., motor racing), with the IRIS Clarity product initiated in 2021 and a proprietary Deep Audio Model (DAM) underpinning subsequent advances. Leadership has included Tom Darnell (cofounder/COO) and Rob Reng (CTO), reflecting a blend of commercial and technical strengths as the firm scaled across sectors and regions.

IRIS announced a $7 million Series A in April–May 2023, led by Puma Private Equity with participation from the Ojjeh family/TAG Group and Toby Brzoznowski (LLamasoft cofounder), who also joined as EVP Americas to drive U.S. growth. The round aimed to accelerate adoption of IRIS Clarity—particularly in North America—and reinforce IRIS’s research-backed product claims around reducing AHT, sound‑proofing costs, and noise‑related complaints. Third‑party trackers report wider totals: Tracxn lists aggregate funding at $22 million across four rounds with a post‑money valuation of ~$36.2 million as of April 5, 2023; CB Insights records totals around $10 million historically, reflecting the variability of public datasets.

IRIS Clarity is offered as a desktop application (Windows/macOS) and an SDK to embed noise removal in IVAs and analytics stacks. Core capabilities include bi‑directional noise cancellation, echo cancellation, noise‑level controls, low CPU/memory footprint, SSO/Azure AD sync, and centralized admin with usage analytics. The technology is measured against industry standards like PESQ and GNR, with IRIS claiming leading performance and single‑digit millisecond latency in support content. Integrations span Genesys, Talkdesk, Five9, 8x8, Vonage, and more, enabling rapid deployment in contact centers and VoIP workflows.

IRIS’s compliance positioning addresses GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and POPIA, supported by a dedicated audio compliance whitepaper, and by marketplace listings that underscore risk reduction around overheard conversations and verbal disclosures.

IRIS highlights continual model improvements and regular app updates, including admin‑side IP restrictions, SSO, automated provisioning, and performance optimizations. The technology page describes training deep neural networks on terabytes of clean speech and diverse noise, with results benchmarked via PESQ and GNR; support content reports < 8 ms latency and ~11.5% average CPU usage on recent machines. Marketplace listings further mention high‑performance mode, diagnostic call recording, and station licensing for enterprise rollouts.

IRIS’s public messaging revolves around “Listen Well”, positioning audio clarity as a human‑centric enabler of focus, well-being, and productivity. The team page showcases cross‑disciplinary expertise (AI, audio engineering, product) and investors with dual‑use and growth backgrounds (e.g., BOKA, Puma). Careers and profiles emphasize the mission‑driven approach and multi‑industry application—from call centers to emergency services—suggesting a culture of applied research, customer impact, and regulated‑industry readiness.

Distribution and visibility come via Genesys AppFoundry (premium listing) and Talkdesk AppConnect, enabling quick trials and procurement for CX teams. Use cases span contact centers (improving AHT, FCR, CSAT/ESAT), public sector/healthcare, financial services, and motorsports—with marketplace pages and press noting geographic availability across EMEA, APAC, LATAM, Middle East, and North America. External reviews and pricing guides portray entry‑level plans for individuals/SMBs and custom enterprise agreements, reflecting traction across company sizes. Partnerships and announcements (e.g., INDYCAR broadcast use) bolster IRIS’s credibility in high‑noise scenarios and help grow a practitioner community oriented around clear audio as data for better analytics and compliance.
