Diver Platform
By Dimensional Insight, Inc
Diver Platform is the flagship business intelligence and analytics product of Dimensional Insight, a privately held software company specializing in data integration, KPIs, and analytics for regulated and data-intensive industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and distribution. The platform provides end-to-end capabilities—from data integration and governance to dashboards, self-service analytics, and role-based reporting—and is delivered in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid models.
Dimensional Insight positions Diver Platform as a complete BI stack covering ETL, data modeling, KPI management, and interactive analytics, with particular strength in complex, governed environments. The platform is used to combine multiple internal and external data sources into a single, secure data layer, exposed via dashboards, reports, and applications tailored to operational and executive users.
Dimensional Insight was founded in 1989 by Fred Powers (CEO) and Stan Zanarotti (CTO) and is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts. The company has grown organically, expanding through subsidiaries and partners across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and now serves thousands of customer organizations worldwide, particularly in healthcare, beverage alcohol, manufacturing, and supply chain.
Diver Platform is an end-to-end BI suite built around components such as Integrator (ETL), Spectre/cBase engines (columnar and multidimensional data stores), and front-ends like ProDiver and DivePort/Diver Gateway for analysis and dashboards. Key capabilities include multi-source data integration, governed KPI and business rule management, fast in-memory analytics, ad hoc exploration (“diving”), rich visualizations, alerts, and industry-specific applications and content packs.
Recent generations of Diver Platform have introduced the Spectre columnar engine for high-performance queries, Diver Gateway as a modern web UI, and continuous enhancements in data processing, security, and usability. Release notes and BARC/product reviews highlight ongoing work on performance, cloud deployment, predefined industry solutions, and improved self-service and visualization capabilities.
Dimensional Insight describes its mission as building technology that “does good in the world,” with a culture centered on long-term relationships, employee stability, and customer success rather than rapid exits. Its long-standing profitability, absence of external investors, and focus on regulated industries suggest a conservative, reliability-focused culture that prioritizes trust, governance, and service quality.
The company reports thousands of customers and more than 10,000 Diver deployments worldwide, with a concentration in hospitals, health systems, manufacturers, distributors, and supply chain organizations. The user community is supported through regional partners (such as Diver BI Group and DBI), user conferences, training programs, and online documentation and video portals, with strong satisfaction scores in independent BARC surveys for product quality, support, and value for money.
