DegreeSight typical implementation process:
Needs assessment: DegreeSight's team collaborates with university enrollment and registrar staff to review existing transfer workflows, database completeness, and integration needs before kickoff.
System configuration and integration: The platform is set up to connect with campus systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, Banner) and configure single, unified workflows for transcript parsing and equivalency evaluation.
Data migration and centralization: Historical equivalency data and transfer credit records are uploaded or merged into DegreeSight’s ecosystem to enable centralized management.
Staff training: Client teams receive hands-on training, workflow optimization guidance, and best practices from DegreeSight Success Specialists, including the use of automation features and AI tools.
Go-live and student onboarding: Self-service portals and automated evaluation tools are activated for student transfer inquiries, providing instant credit matches and feedback.

Success Specialists provide secret shopper evaluations, transfer journey analysis, and team training to tailor rollout and ongoing optimization to each campus context.
DegreeSight offers a high-touch training and support model centered on rapid onboarding, hands-on coaching, and ongoing optimization led by its Success Specialists. New users receive guided implementation that aligns the platform with existing registrar and enrollment workflows, followed by role-based training for staff involved in intake, transcript parsing, equivalency decisions, and communications. Institutions typically go live within about four weeks of contract signing, with teams trained to manage self-service portals, automation rules, integrations, and reporting from day one.
Support extends beyond initial setup. DegreeSight provides continuous optimization services such as transfer journey analysis, secret shopper evaluations, team training refreshers, and data sanitization to improve data quality and automation accuracy. Dedicated Success Specialists remain engaged post-launch, reviewing KPIs like time-to-first-response, automation rate, and inquiry-to-application conversion to identify improvement opportunities and tune rules, workflows, and integrations accordingly.
DegreeSight protects institutional and student data through policy, technical, and operational controls documented in its terms and privacy statements and reflected in platform practices.
Account security and access control: Unique user accounts with credential confidentiality requirements; customers must safeguard passwords and report unauthorized access, with DegreeSight empowered to suspend accounts for security violations.
Privacy policy and data handling: A formal privacy policy governs collection, processing, storage, and transfer of personal information, including cross-border processing by DegreeSight and its affiliates, with commitments to protect visitor and user data.
Data governance and vendor oversight: Contractual terms reference protection of registration data and personal information, and allow for lawful disclosure where required, aligning with common SaaS governance practices for education data.
Secure onboarding and least-privilege operations: Role-based access is implied by member account controls and workflow separation between student self-service and staff adjudication, limiting data exposure to authorized users.
Secure integrations and data exchange: Integrations with SIS/CRM and degree-audit systems are supported, with centralized transfer of equivalencies and transcript data designed to reduce errors and keep data in controlled systems rather than ad hoc tools.
Threat and incident response posture: Terms allow DegreeSight to access, preserve, and disclose account information when required by law or to protect service integrity, supporting incident response and legal compliance processes.
DegreeSight’s policy on data ownership and portability, as outlined in its Terms of Service and related public documentation, emphasizes user rights to content but also incorporates platform rights necessary for service delivery.
DegreeSight does not claim ownership of any content submitted, uploaded, or displayed by users (including personal information and documents for transfer evaluation) while using the service. Instead, users retain ownership of their data and grant DegreeSight a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, distribute, display, and store the content solely for the provision and improvement of its services, for the duration of the membership. This license automatically terminates when account access or membership is discontinued.
DegreeSight’s terms and conditions include provisions for account cancellation, termination by either party, and service modifications, but the document does not outline specifics regarding automatic contract renewals or detailed cancellation penalties typical of traditional enterprise SaaS Master Service Agreements.
User-Initiated Cancellation: Members may cancel or terminate their DegreeSight account, including associated email and services, at any time by submitting a cancellation request to [email protected]. This will result in removal of access, deletion of passwords and related information, and permanent deletion of content associated with the account.
Vendor-Initiated Termination: DegreeSight can immediately suspend, terminate, discontinue, or limit a user’s account (with or without notice) for reasons including, but not limited to: TOS violations, law enforcement requests, major service or technical changes, security issues, extended periods of inactivity, fraudulent or illegal activity, or non-payment of fees.
Consequences of Termination: Upon any termination, all service access is revoked, the account and data are deleted, and further use is barred. There’s no mention of partial refunds, data retention after termination, or specific offboarding procedures.
Renewal: The standard Terms of Service do not detail any process for automatic renewal, duration of service periods, or advance termination notice typically included in formal enterprise subscription agreements. Clients are encouraged to request any addenda or custom terms to clarify renewal cadence and required notice for larger, long-term deployments.
Service Modifications: DegreeSight reserves the right to modify, alter, discontinue, or update any part of its service at its sole discretion without prior notice. Ongoing use after changes constitutes acceptance of such changes.

DegreeSight meets key compliance standards relevant to higher education, student data privacy, and cloud-based software deployment. The platform is explicitly stated to meet strict requirements for FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and SOC 2 compliance, ensuring both regulatory compliance and independently audited security policies.
FERPA compliance ensures that all student education records managed through DegreeSight are handled in accordance with US federal law for privacy and protection of student information—a foundational requirement for any software solution used by colleges and universities.
