VirtualBoss
By VirtualBoss Software
VirtualBoss by VirtualBoss Software offers a range of customization options designed to meet the specific needs of different businesses, particularly within the construction industry. Here are some key data points highlighting its customization features:
Custom Logins: VirtualBoss allows for the creation of custom logins, enabling multiple employees, managers, homeowners, or subcontractors to view or update the progress of a job from anywhere. This feature supports role-based access, ensuring that each user has the appropriate level of access to the system.
Customizable Task Manager: Users can customize field names, assign tasks to multiple people, and view comprehensive task lists. This flexibility ensures that the task management process aligns with the unique workflows of different projects.
Gantt Charts: VirtualBoss provides Gantt charts that can be customized to display project progress visually. This feature helps project managers keep track of whether a project is on schedule and make necessary adjustments.
Email and Fax Customization: The software includes options to customize email and fax settings, allowing for seamless communication of work orders and project updates to relevant stakeholders.
Over-the-Phone Training: As part of the Pro Support Plan, VirtualBoss offers over-the-phone training sessions. This personalized approach allows users to receive direct assistance and ask questions in real-time, ensuring they understand how to use the software effectively.
Encryption in Transit and at Rest: VirtualBoss uses advanced encryption protocols to secure data both during transmission and while stored. This dual-layer encryption ensures that sensitive information is protected from unauthorized access at all times.
Security Audits: The software undergoes regular security audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities. These audits help maintain a secure environment for user data by proactively finding and fixing security issues.
Compliance Checks: VirtualBoss conducts compliance checks to ensure that its security measures meet industry standards. While specific compliance standards such as GDPR or HIPAA are not explicitly mentioned, these checks indicate a commitment to maintaining robust security protocols.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): VirtualBoss implements multi-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security. This feature requires users to provide two or more verification factors to gain access, thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
Data Backups: The software performs regular backups to ensure that data can be recovered in the event of a loss or breach. These backups are crucial for maintaining data integrity and availability.
VirtualBoss Software releases updates regularly, often multiple times within a year. Historical data shows that updates can be as frequent as monthly or even weekly during periods of active development. For example, in early 2012, several updates were released in quick succession, with new builds being introduced almost every week or month.
VirtualBoss by VirtualBoss Software ensures that clients retain ownership of their data. This means that all the information collected and managed through the VirtualBoss platform belongs to the client, not the software provider. This policy is crucial for businesses that need to maintain control over their project data, client information, and other sensitive details.
VirtualBoss supports data portability, allowing users to export their data in standard formats. This feature is essential for businesses that may need to move their data to other systems or platforms. The ability to export data ensures that clients can maintain access to their information and use it in various applications as needed. For instance, VirtualBoss allows data export to Microsoft Excel, facilitating easy data transfer and integration with other tools.
VirtualBoss software requires a software license for simultaneous access to a shared database. Scaling up requires purchasing additional licenses, while scaling down reduces licenses if fewer users need access. For specific terms, contact VirtualBoss directly or refer to their official documentation. Multiple licenses allow simultaneous data viewing and changes.
Support Plans and Upgrades: VirtualBoss offers a Basic Support Plan that allows users to upgrade their software whenever a new update is released, this implies that users with this plan may have ongoing access to the latest software versions, which could be considered a form of contract renewal for updates and support.
Cancellation Policy: The search results mention that adding a Support Plan to a VirtualBoss order can be canceled at any time with no cancellation fees, this suggests a flexible cancellation policy for at least this aspect of the service.
Encryption in Transit and at Rest: VirtualBoss employs data encryption both during transmission and while stored. This ensures that sensitive information is protected from unauthorized access at all times.
Security Audits: The software undergoes regular security audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities. This proactive approach helps maintain a secure environment for user data.
