Ideagen Huddle is a secure, cloud-based document collaboration platform designed for regulated industries. It enables businesses to create branded workspaces, assign tasks, and collaborate securely across teams, partners, and external stakeholders. Huddle emphasizes security and compliance, offering features like e-signatures, client portals, and advanced access controls. The platform integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Google Workspace, making it a flexible choice for organizations with established workflows.
Huddle was co-founded by Alastair Mitchell and Andy McLoughlin in 2006 in London. Over time, it has become a trusted solution, particularly for government agencies and enterprises in need of secure collaboration tools. Its acquisition by Ideagen in 2020 marked a significant milestone, integrating Huddle into a broader suite of enterprise software solutions offered by Ideagen.
Before its acquisition by Ideagen, Huddle raised approximately $89.2 million through multiple funding rounds. Notable investors included DAG Ventures and Hermes GPE. Its focus on regulated industries and security contributed to its valuation and appeal to potential buyers.
Huddle is known for its robust set of features tailored to document collaboration in compliance-heavy industries:
Secure Document Collaboration: Includes version control, advanced permissions, and audit trails.
Regulatory Compliance: First to achieve FedRAMP authorization for cloud collaboration.
Integrations: Works with Microsoft Power Automate, Salesforce, and mobile device management systems.
Customization: Offers branded workspaces, offline editing, and API access for advanced integrations.
Huddle was acquired by Ideagen in 2020, aligning with Ideagen's mission to provide secure, compliant software solutions across industries. While Huddle itself has not made acquisitions, its integration into Ideagen’s portfolio has expanded its reach and capabilities.
Recent updates focus on enhancing user experience and compliance capabilities. For example, the platform now supports advanced email management and single sign-on (SSO) to streamline workflows for enterprises.
As part of Ideagen, Huddle benefits from a culture emphasizing innovation, customer-centricity, and trust. Ideagen is committed to empowering organizations with tools to enhance safety, compliance, and efficiency. This mission aligns closely with Huddle's value proposition.
