Powerful "All-in-One" Integration: One of the most praised aspects is the consolidation of Kofax Capture, Transformation (OCR), and workflow management into one product. Users appreciate having a single package for document extraction, BPM, and case management.
Strong Extraction and OCR Capabilities: The software is highly rated for its ability to handle unstructured or semi-structured documents. Specifically, its performance in reading handwritten text and removing "noise" from documents is frequently noted as a major strength.
Low-Code Workflow Design: Many users value the drag-and-drop process designer, which allows for rapid automation without deep manual coding. The intuitive, colored icons and visual workflow mapping are often cited as making the system easier to configure for those with technical backgrounds.
Flexible Deployment and SDK: Developers frequently mention the flexibility of the platform's SDK and API, allowing for deep native integration with other enterprise application ecosystems. It also offers multiple deployment options, including public cloud and on-premises solutions.
Efficiency in Exception Management: The platform provides a user-friendly way to manage "exceptions" (cases where automated extraction fails), allowing human operators to review and fix data efficiently.
High Total Cost of Ownership: The most common complaint across all review platforms is that the software is very expensive. It is often described as the "Cadillac" of workflow platforms—highly capable but cost-prohibitive for smaller organizations.
Performance Issues and Technical Requirements: Some administrators report performance lag, particularly with older browser interfaces. Additionally, while basic tasks are low-code, complex business requirements still necessitate "going behind the scenes" for heavy customization.
Documentation and Support Challenges: Users have noted that the technical documentation can be lacking in detail for complex scenarios. While the company is generally responsive, the quality of technical support is sometimes described as "sufficient but not excellent."
