ThermoGrid

ThermoGrid, now part of ECI Software Solutions, is a comprehensive cloud-based contractor management solution tailored for small to medium-sized residential service companies. Originally developed by Adam Cory, a former HVAC general manager frustrated by the limitations of existing software, ThermoGrid was built to address the real-world challenges faced by contractors in industries like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and cleaning services. At its core, ThermoGrid is designed to streamline and centralize business operations. It offers a suite of features that include intelligent scheduling, dispatching, invoicing, inventory management, and customer relationship tracking. These tools are integrated into a single platform, allowing businesses to manage their entire workflow from one place. This integration reduces the need for multiple software systems and minimizes errors caused by manual data entry or disconnected tools. One of ThermoGrid’s standout features is its smart dispatching AI, which automatically matches the most suitable technician to each job. This matching is based on factors such as location, availability, skill set, and past performance. This not only improves job efficiency but also enhances customer satisfaction by ensuring that the right technician is assigned to the right task. In October 2023, ECI launched the ThermoGrid mobile app, further extending the platform’s capabilities. The app was designed with field technicians in mind, offering seamless access to job information, customer records, and inventory data—even in areas with poor internet connectivity. Its offline functionality ensures that technicians can continue working without interruption, whether they’re in rural locations, older buildings, or during power outages. The mobile app also supports real-time updates, allowing technicians to upload job notes, photos, and generate invoices directly from the field. It even enables on-the-spot payment processing via credit card or e-check, which accelerates cash flow and improves customer convenience. All data syncs instantly with the cloud-based system, keeping office staff and field workers aligned. ThermoGrid’s inventory management system tracks materials from warehouse to truck to job site, reducing loss and simplifying stock replenishment. Purchase orders can be managed centrally, and in-field transfers are supported, making inventory control more dynamic and responsive. ECI has invested heavily in performance enhancements for ThermoGrid, ensuring that the platform delivers fast page loads and maintains 99.9% uptime. This reliability is crucial for businesses that depend on real-time data to make decisions and serve customers effectively.

ThermoGrid distinguishes itself in the contractor management software market through a combination of industry-specific design, intelligent automation, and seamless mobility. Unlike generic business management platforms, ThermoGrid was built from the ground up by a contractor who understood the unique pain points of residential service businesses. This insider perspective has resulted in a product that aligns closely with the day-to-day realities of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping professionals. One of ThermoGrid’s most compelling competitive advantages is its smart dispatching AI. While many platforms offer basic scheduling tools, ThermoGrid’s AI-driven dispatch system goes further by analyzing technician skills, location, availability, and historical performance to assign jobs intelligently. This not only improves operational efficiency but also enhances customer satisfaction by ensuring the right technician is sent to each job. The ThermoGrid mobile app adds another layer of differentiation. Its offline capabilities are particularly valuable in remote or low-connectivity environments, allowing technicians to continue working without disruption. Real-time syncing between the field and the office ensures that everyone stays updated, reducing miscommunication and delays. The ability to process payments on-site also accelerates revenue collection and improves customer convenience.
