StackBlitz
بواسطة StackBlitz, Inc.
StackBlitz is a developer tools company best known for its browser‑native, full‑stack web IDE powered by WebContainers, a WebAssembly‑based runtime that boots a real Node.js environment inside the browser in milliseconds. This architecture removes remote VMs from the critical path and enables faster, more secure, and instantly shareable development environments.
The platform spans the classic StackBlitz editor and Codeflow experience, a public WebContainer API that lets third parties embed dev environments in their apps, and an Enterprise Server for self‑hosting behind firewalls/VPCs. In 2024–2025, StackBlitz expanded into AI‑assisted development with Bolt.new, which uses WebContainers to let an AI agent generate, run, and deploy full‑stack apps entirely in the browser.
StackBlitz was founded in 2017 by Eric Simons (CEO) and Albert Pai (CTO). The company’s growth has been tied closely to the maturation of WebContainers and the adoption of modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Next.js) in education, documentation, and enterprise workflows.
A pivotal moment came with the public launch of WebContainers in May 2021, marking the first mainstream availability of a native Node.js runtime in the browser. Since then, StackBlitz has shipped cross‑browser improvements (e.g., Safari/iOS), native package manager support (npm/yarn/pnpm), and the public WebContainer API, which accelerated ecosystem adoption and partner integrations.
