Setago

Setago is a specialized cloud-based worker assistance system and digital work instruction software designed specifically for small to medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs). The platform focuses on the digitalization of manual work processes, enabling companies to replace outdated paper-based or PDF manuals with interactive, step-by-step digital guides. These instructions can be enriched with multimedia content such as high-definition videos, images, and warning notices to ensure that even complex assembly tasks are performed correctly and safely. Beyond simple documentation, Setago functions as a comprehensive process management tool that ensures operational standards across the production floor. It offers features like real-time data access, traceability for audit-ready evidence, and a modular system for creating reusable work steps. By guiding employees through their tasks on tablets, smartphones, or HMI screens, Setago significantly reduces search times, minimizes error rates associated with product variants, and accelerates the onboarding process for new or cognitively impaired workers.

Setago distinguishes itself from generic Business Process Management (BPM) tools by focusing exclusively on the 'last mile' of manufacturing—the worker at the assembly station. While many competitors offer complex, abstract workflow modeling, Setago prioritizes pragmatism and ease of use. Its interface is designed for the high-intensity environment of the shop floor, where clarity and speed are paramount. A major competitive edge is its 'Agile-to-Industrial' bridge; as a member of the Phoenix Mecano Group, Setago offers the reliability and long-term support of a publicly traded industrial conglomerate (with over €780M in revenue) while maintaining the rapid innovation cycle of a dedicated software team. Technically, Setago excels through its modular 'building block' approach to instruction creation. Unlike static PDFs, Setago allows managers to update a single module and have that change reflected instantly across all instructions using that block, ensuring global consistency without manual rework. Its native support for hardware integration—connecting to sensors and tools via industrial protocols—is a differentiator that many pure-SaaS competitors lack. Additionally, Setago’s pricing model is tailored specifically for SMEs, offering a high-tier feature set including SSO and ERP connectivity at a price point that remains accessible, unlike enterprise-only solutions like SAP's more complex modules. Finally, its commitment to German data security standards and GDPR compliance provides a level of trust that is critical for European manufacturers who are wary of storing sensitive process IP on non-compliant cloud platforms.
