Sessions Health is a modern, cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) and practice management platform designed specifically for mental health professionals. Built with simplicity and flexibility in mind, it caters to solo practitioners, small clinics, and growing practices that need a secure, efficient, and customizable solution to manage their therapy workflows. The platform is fully HIPAA-compliant and offers a streamlined experience for handling scheduling, billing, documentation, telehealth, and client communication all from a single, intuitive dashboard. One of the platform’s core strengths is its ease of use. Sessions Health allows therapists to quickly set up their practice with minimal technical knowledge. The interface is clean and user-friendly, enabling providers to manage client records, treatment plans, and progress notes without navigating complex menus. It supports customizable intake forms, SOAP and DAP note templates, and paperless documentation, making it easy to tailor the system to individual clinical styles and preferences. Scheduling is made seamless with one-way or two-way calendar syncing, recurring appointments, and automated reminders via email or SMS—all included at no extra cost. Clients can book sessions online through a secure portal, where they can also complete consent forms, intake paperwork, and access invoices. This portal is mobile-friendly and designed to enhance client engagement while reducing administrative overhead for providers. Billing and payments are fully integrated into the platform. Sessions Health supports superbills, insurance claims, and real-time eligibility checks through Claim.MD, connecting with over 2,000 payers nationwide. Stripe powers the payment processing, allowing clients to pay via credit card, FSA, or HSA accounts. The system automates invoicing and supports AutoPay, helping therapists maintain consistent cash flow and reduce time spent on financial tasks. Telehealth is available as an optional add-on for $10/month per practitioner. It includes a virtual waiting room, screen sharing, chat, file sharing, and support for up to four participants per session. This makes it suitable for individual, couples, and family therapy. The platform also supports supervision features, allowing clinical supervisors to oversee notes and sessions, which is especially useful for group practices or training environments. Pricing is transparent and affordable. Sessions Health offers a freemium plan at $0/month for up to three clients and one practitioner, ideal for those just starting out. The professional plan costs $39/month for unlimited clients, with additional practitioners billed at $29/month each. Optional features like telehealth and electronic claims are priced separately, with claims costing $0.25 per submission and eligibility reports at $0.15 each. A 30-day free trial is available with no credit card required, allowing users to explore the platform risk-free. Sessions Health provides a comprehensive, affordable, and user-friendly solution for mental health professionals seeking to simplify their practice management. With robust features, strong security, and flexible pricing, it empowers therapists to focus more on client care and less on administrative tasks. Whether you're launching a private practice or scaling a small clinic, Sessions Health offers the tools and support needed to grow with confidence.
Sessions Health stands out in the competitive landscape of mental health EHR platforms by offering a therapist-first experience that prioritizes simplicity, affordability, and flexibility. While many competitors focus on enterprise-level features or complex integrations, Sessions Health is designed to meet the practical needs of solo practitioners and small group practices without overwhelming them with unnecessary complexity. One of its most compelling advantages is its clean, intuitive interface. Unlike platforms such as TherapyNotes or SimplePractice, which can have steeper learning curves, Sessions Health allows users to get started quickly with minimal training. This ease of use is especially valuable for therapists who want to focus on client care rather than navigating technical systems. The platform’s layout is streamlined, making it easy to manage appointments, notes, billing, and telehealth from a single dashboard. Pricing is another area where Sessions Health excels. With a flat monthly fee of $39 for unlimited clients and core features, it offers exceptional value compared to competitors that charge extra for telehealth, billing tools, or additional users. The availability of a free plan for up to three clients also makes it accessible to new practitioners or those testing the waters of private practice. Optional add-ons like telehealth and electronic claims are affordably priced, allowing users to scale their services without financial strain. Sessions Health also provides robust documentation tools, including support for SOAP, DAP, BIRP, and EMDR notes, along with customizable templates. This flexibility allows therapists to maintain clinical standards while adapting the system to their preferred workflow. The platform’s client portal enhances engagement by enabling clients to complete forms, book appointments, and make payments securely online. Telehealth functionality, offered at just $10/month, includes features like screen sharing, chat, and multi-user support, making it suitable for individual, couples, and family therapy. While it may not offer advanced analytics or e-prescribing, Sessions Health focuses on delivering the essential tools that mental health professionals use daily. Sessions Health’s competitive edge lies in its user-friendly design, transparent pricing, and therapist-focused features. It’s an ideal solution for mental health providers seeking a reliable, efficient, and affordable platform that supports both clinical care and practice growth.
