Pomelo Health (by TELUS Health) is a leading Canadian provider of digital healthcare workflow and patient engagement software. Known for optimizing clinic operations through automation, Pomelo enables healthcare professionals to communicate securely with patients, streamline administrative processes, and enhance care delivery across multi-specialty clinical environments.
Pomelo Health operates within the TELUS Health ecosystem, offering cloud-based software for appointment management, two-way patient messaging, online intake forms, and telemedicine. The platform integrates directly with TELUS EMRs like Accuro and Medesync, helping clinics reduce no-shows, digitize administrative workflows, and deliver modern patient experiences through secure, encrypted channels. Originally marketed under Health Myself Innovations, the platform was acquired by TELUS Health and rebranded as Pomelo to reflect its wider integration capacity across Canadian healthcare systems.
Pomelo Health was founded in Montreal by Rémi Richard and Yan Raymond-Lalande, who were inspired to create a patient engagement system that would alleviate long clinic wait times and improve access efficiency. Their early innovation — a digital kiosk and online check-in system — evolved into a multi-module SaaS solution supporting healthcare workflows nationwide. With backing from Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service and the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) in Boston, the founders expanded Pomelo’s reach beyond Ontario into U.S. telehealth markets, where TELUS Health later saw strategic synergy and fully integrated the platform.
Before TELUS Health’s acquisition, Pomelo Health raised approximately $24.8 million across four funding rounds, including growth capital supporting platform expansion and EMR partnerships. The acquisition provided long-term capital for national scaling, embedding Pomelo as a key module in TELUS Health’s Connected Care portfolio. While specific post-acquisition financials are undisclosed, TELUS Health’s broader digital health business (which Pomelo contributes to) reported multi-million-dollar reinvestments in interoperability development and security infrastructure in Canada and the U.S. between 2022–2025.
