By Plancraft
Plancraft is a high-growth SaaS company based in Hamburg, Germany, pioneering AI-first, cloud-based software for tradespeople and construction businesses across Europe. Below is a detailed analysis of the company across key dimensions.
Plancraft provides a cloud-based platform that digitizes core workflows for craftsmen and construction professionals, including project management, quoting, invoicing, team scheduling, and field-office communication. The solution is renowned for its intuitive, mobile-first design and growing AI capabilities targeting labor-intensive sectors that have lagged in digital transformation.
Officially founded as a GmbH in February 2020 by Julian Wiedenhaus (CEO), Alexander Noll (Engineering/CPO), and Richard Keil (Technical Lead), Plancraft originated from firsthand frustration with paperwork in the trades. Originally a lean offering for proposal and project management, it quickly expanded, winning startup awards and growing into a robust, feature-rich SaaS platform with strong traction among small and mid-sized craft businesses.
Plancraft has seen rapid financing growth:
Seed and Series A: After a €1.9M seed round (2022), Plancraft secured €12M in Series A funding, led by top-tier VC Creandum (backers of Spotify and Klarna) and HTGF.
Series B: In August 2025, Plancraft raised a landmark €38M Series B, led by international VC Headline, with total funding now surpassing €50M. This accelerates their valuation and underscores profound investor confidence in their AI vision and market potential.
Plancraft’s software includes:
Project calculation and cost estimation
Automated invoicing and documentation
Employee time tracking and scheduling
Digital communication between the office and the field via a mobile-first app
File storage, reporting, and data export (including DATEV integration)
Post-2024 funding, Plancraft’s roadmap prioritizes:
Advanced AI features for voice-activated workflows
Automation for quotations, customer messaging, and administrative tasks
Intuitive language-based project management, minimizing clicks and manual data entry
Plancraft champions a mission of “less office, more craft,” prioritizing empathy for field workers, user-centric design, and real impact over flashy corporate tech. The internal culture values humility, inclusivity, and a drive to equip the “builders of tomorrow” with practical, people-first AI solutions. Collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning are emphasized, with diverse teams spread across multiple European markets.
Plancraft serves over 20,000 paying tradespeople and professionals, with thousands more using trial versions or accessing content. Its user base spans contractors, construction SMEs, and specialty trades across Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Italy. The platform is highly rated on Capterra, Trustpilot, and other sites, with users highlighting significant time savings, ease of use, and rapid support response. Plancraft also fosters a sense of community by incorporating real feedback into product updates and celebrating the progress of its clients.
