Microsoft Lens is a mobile scanning app that turns your phone or tablet camera into a document and whiteboard capture tool, using AI-based image enhancement and OCR to clean up photos, straighten perspectives, remove shadows, and convert printed or handwritten content into searchable, editable text. It supports multiple capture modes such as Document, Whiteboard, Business Card, Photo, and sometimes Table/ID, allowing you to optimize scans for forms, notes, receipts, cards, and classroom or meeting boards, then export them as PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or image files. Captured content can be saved directly to OneNote, OneDrive, local storage, or shared via email, and can also be sent to Immersive Reader for accessibility scenarios like read‑aloud and language support. The app includes basic editing and markup tools—crop, rotate, filters, reordering pages, pen and text annotation—so scans can be adjusted and clarified before saving or sharing, making it useful for students, professionals, and teams who need quick digitization of physical documents and whiteboards.
