ELSA Speak
بواسطة ELSA, Corp
ELSA (English Language Speech Assistant) Speak is a leading EdTech company specializing in AI-powered English pronunciation and fluency training for non-native speakers. The platform is available as a mobile app and web solution, targeting consumers, schools, and businesses with over 18 million learners in 100+ countries. ELSA’s flagship app delivers personalized, instant feedback using proprietary speech recognition technology tailored to diverse accents and global English learning needs.
ELSA was founded in 2015 by Vietnamese entrepreneur Vu Van and Swedish engineer Xavier Anguera. The concept originated from Van’s own challenges as a graduate student in the U.S., where accent and pronunciation barriers inspired the development of technology to help non-native speakers master spoken English. Since then, ELSA has grown steadily—winning Google’s AI Challenge, scaling user adoption through aggressive product iteration, and expanding to over 150 employees worldwide with offices in San Francisco, Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo, Jakarta, and Bangalore.
ELSA has raised multiple rounds of venture capital. Recent fundraises pushed cumulative investment above $26 million, with support from notable investors including Google’s Gradient Ventures and Monk's Hill Ventures. Funding has fueled ambitious R&D, product expansion, and international go-to-market strategies. Valuation details are rarely disclosed for private edtechs, but ELSA’s rapid growth and adoption among global enterprise clients signal a healthy market position and strong investor confidence.
