Brightly Origin
By Brightly Software, Inc
Brightly Origin is a Siemens-backed company specializing in intelligent asset and capital planning software for organizations globally, with deep expertise in data-driven facility management and sustainable technology.
Brightly Origin delivers a cloud-based asset management and strategic capital planning platform, functioning within Brightly Software—now part of Siemens since its acquisition. The company serves over 12,000 clients worldwide, supporting sectors such as healthcare, education, government, and commercial enterprises.
The roots of Brightly Software reach back to 1999 as SchoolDude, pioneering SaaS enterprise asset management (EAM) for education. The company evolved with new products—MaintenanceDirect, Building Integration Suite, FacilityDude—expanding into healthcare and government verticals. Major growth milestones include a $100M outside investment from Warburg Pincus in 2014, and multiple acquisitions, culminating in the introduction of the “Brightly” brand and eventual Siemens acquisition.
Brightly has raised $2.3M in seed VC funding as of December 2024, with larger capital investments previously noted from Warburg Pincus and Siemens. The Siemens acquisition adds substantial valuation and access to global technology resources.
Brightly Origin’s key offerings include:
Strategic Asset Management (SAM) platform
Predictive capital planning powered by AI analytics
CMMS integration for real-time asset health
Risk ranking and lifecycle modeling
Mobile facility condition assessment tools
Benchmarking, reporting, and dashboards
Brightly expanded through the acquisition of TheWorxHub (healthcare vertical), Mobile311 (government), Active Data (event management), and Smartware Group/Bigfoot Software (asset-centric EAM). Siemens’ acquisition further propelled product advancement and global reach.
Brightly Origin continually adds features such as enhanced analytics, data integration tools, IoT remote monitoring, ESG dashboards, and AI-driven insights for maintenance prioritization.
Brightly emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and partnership. The culture is founded on cross-departmental alignment, continuous learning, and client success, with award-winning support, consultancies, and training programs as strategic priorities.
Brightly Origin serves diverse clients—startups, SMEs, large enterprises—across multiple regions, offering both on-premise and mobile solutions. The platform’s community includes facility managers, capital planners, engineers, and finance leaders, supported through an active learning center, consultancies, and user forums.
