iManage releasessoftware updatesperiodically. The iManage UpdateManager serviceperforms periodicchecks for softwareupdates by runningthe iManage Updater. By default, it performsthis check every15 minutes.
Updates for iManage are managed through a structured process to ensure they are effectively implemented and communicated to users. Here is a general outline of how updates are managed:
Configuration: The frequency of update checks can be configured by setting the required value (in seconds) for thecheckForUpdateIntervalSecondsproperty in theUpdateManagerConfiguration.xmlfile.
Centralized Management: The configuration file can be uploaded using the iManage Control Center to ensure that the configuration changes are managed centrally. Once users connect to the server, the configuration file is downloaded to their machines.
Notification: If the Auto Updates feature is configured, iManage Work Desktop for Windows notifies users when an application update is available. Users can choose to install the update immediately or dismiss the notification, which will reappear every 24 hours until the update is installed.
Installation: When users accept the notification to update the software, the latest updates are installed on their desktops. The iManage Work Agent installs the update and notifies users when the installation is successful.
