Nomod is a financial technology company focused on making card payments and digital financial services accessible for forward-thinking businesses. Its mobile-first solutions allow merchants to accept in-person and online payments directly from their iOS or Android devices, eliminating the need for traditional card terminals or extra hardware. Nomod offers its services across various regions, with a strong presence in the UAE, UK, and US.
Nomod was founded in late 2021 by serial entrepreneur Omar Kassim, who previously exited his e-commerce startup JadoPado to Noon.com. Initially conceived as a solution for small-scale merchants to accept card payments easily, Nomod started as a side project and rapidly gained traction. The company officially launched its primary service in March 2021 and quickly onboarded thousands of merchants, particularly in the UAE, which accounts for a significant portion of its user base and transaction volume. Nomod has been recognized as part of Y Combinator’s Summer 2021 batch, helping it accelerate its growth trajectory.
Nomod raised a $3.4million seed round at a $50million valuation in late 2021, led by Global Founders Capital and supported by Kingsway Capital, Goodwater Capital, and others, including notable angel investors from companies like Careem and Dropbox. To date, Nomod has raised approximately $3.53million across three rounds, according to startup directories.
Nomod’s platform provides several innovative payment solutions for merchants:
Payment Links: Create, customize, and share payment links for online charges, interacting directly via WhatsApp, Instagram, email, etc.
In-Person Payments: Accepts contactless card payments using the device’s NFC, scanning, or typing card details without hardware.
Multicurrency Payments: Supports more than 135 currencies, allowing global transactions with automatic conversion.
Invoices and Receipts: Professional invoice creation with customizable branding, recurring invoicing, and automated payment reminders.
Integrations: Can be paired with Stripe accounts and accepts all major card networks, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and more.

Team Collaboration: Enables multiple team members to process payments.
Nomod regularly rolls out features to cater to small and micro merchants, such as discounts, tipping, tax capture, customer data tracking, and real-time payments. In recent updates, they have improved analytics/reporting and facilitated advanced invoice management and integration capabilities for even smoother payment acceptance.
Nomod champions transparency, customer-centricity, flexibility, continual learning, resourcefulness, and a global, remote-first working environment. They encourage internal openness, strong personal responsibility, trust, and humility. Employees are expected to act with conviction, take ownership, and focus on making meaningful decisions. The team is globally distributed, dressing “well but never sloppy” and “accomplishing more with less” while putting customer needs at the core of every business decision.
Nomod is trusted by over 34,000 merchants, with a substantial concentration in the UAE and KSA. Its user base consists mainly of small businesses, micro-entrepreneurs, and startups often underserved by traditional banking and payment processors.
