Konnect eMail Central
By Konnect Email
The implementation of Konnect eMail Central is designed to be straightforward and efficient, typically taking a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the organization's IT environment and deployment scale. Here's a step-by-step breakdown:
Determine Outlook Version
Before installation, users must check whether their Outlook is 32-bit or 64-bit to download the correct installer.
Download and Install the Add-In
For the Classic version, users download a .msi installer file. The installation involves running the setup, accepting the license agreement, and confirming the install directory. The process usually completes in under 10 seconds.
Silent Installation (Optional for IT Teams)
IT administrators can perform bulk deployments using Microsoft’s msiexec.exe tool with silent install parameters. These parameters allow pre-configuration of features like compliance tags, category tagging, and save prompts.
Grant Admin Consent (New Version)
For the New Outlook version, administrators must grant consent for the app to access Microsoft 365 services. This involves signing in with an M365 admin account and approving permissions for SharePoint, Teams, and Graph endpoints.
Deploy via Microsoft 365 Admin Center
Admins navigate to the Microsoft 365 admin center, search for “Konnect eMail,” and deploy it to selected users or groups. Permissions are accepted, and the deployment is finalized.
User Sign-In and First Use
After installation, users launch the add-in from Outlook, sign in with their Microsoft account, and grant access if not already done by the admin. The app then becomes fully functional.
Konnect eMail Central can be customized extensively to fit specific business needs, especially in enterprise and government environments. Here are the key customization options and data points:
Copy or Move as the Default action when saving emails
Example: {Date}-{Subject}-{Time} for emails or {Date}_{AttachmentName} for files
These customization features make Konnect eMail Central highly adaptable for organizations with specific compliance, workflow, or user experience requirements.
Konnect eMail Central follows a per-user, per-year licensing model, which applies to both the Outlook SharePoint Explorer and Drag & Drop Add-In versions. While the platform does not publicly list setup fees or maintenance charges, there is no indication of separate setup fees for standard installations. The installation process is designed to be quick and user-friendly, often completed in minutes.
Support is included for licensed users via a ticketing system, available during business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST, excluding weekends and public holidays in Victoria, Australia). There is no mention of additional charges for support or maintenance, suggesting these services are bundled with the annual license.
For enterprise deployments or custom configurations, organizations may need to request a quote to determine if any additional costs apply.
Konnect eMail Central offers a range of training and support resources to help new users onboard effectively:
Konnect eMail Central is built with security by design, ensuring that user data remains protected at all times. Key security features include:
These measures make Konnect eMail Central a trusted solution for organizations with strict data governance and compliance requirements.
Konnect eMail Central appears to follow a regular update cycle, with documentation and user guides for both the Classic and New versions showing last updates as of July 18, 2025. Updates are managed through the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, especially for the New version, which is deployed via the Microsoft Admin Center. This allows IT administrators to push updates centrally to users. For the Classic version, updates may require downloading and reinstalling the .msi installer. Users are notified of updates through documentation changes and version notes, and enterprise clients can coordinate updates with Konnect’s support team to ensure compatibility and minimal disruption.
Konnect eMail Central is designed with data sovereignty and user control in mind. All emails and attachments saved using the platform are stored directly in the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment—specifically in SharePoint, Teams, or OneDrive. The platform does not route or store any client data through Konnect’s servers, ensuring that data ownership remains entirely with the user organization.
Additionally, because the data resides in Microsoft 365, it is inherently portable. Organizations can export, migrate, or manage their content using standard Microsoft tools without dependency on Konnect eMail Central. This approach aligns with best practices for compliance, records management, and information governance.
Konnect eMail Central uses a per-user, per-year licensing model, which provides flexibility for scaling. Organizations can add or remove users based on their evolving needs. While specific terms for scaling are not detailed publicly, the licensing structure suggests that scaling up involves purchasing additional licenses, and scaling down would require adjusting the license count at renewal.
For large-scale deployments or changes, Konnect encourages direct contact through their support or sales channels to tailor licensing and deployment plans. This ensures that organizations can align their usage with budget, compliance, and operational requirements.
Konnect eMail Central’s Terms of Use outline general conditions for service access, but specific details about contract renewal and cancellation are not extensively detailed on the public site. However, based on standard SaaS practices and the licensing model mentioned:

These measures make Konnect eMail Central suitable for organizations with strict regulatory requirements, including government agencies and enterprises focused on records management and data protection.
