Overview of OnScale Solve Software Company

OnScale Solve is a cloud-based engineering simulation platform designed to provide engineers with powerful, scalable simulation capabilities. The platform is built to run on public and private cloud supercomputers, offering a web-based user interface (UI) and an API for seamless integration into various design workflows. OnScale Solve enables engineers to perform fast multiphysics simulations, including mechanical, thermal, and thermo-mechanical analyses, with automatic CAD repair and meshing features.

Founding and Growth

OnScale was founded in 2017 by a team of scientists and engineers dedicated to delivering world-class computer-aided engineering (CAE) on next-gen cloud high-performance computing (HPC). The company's proprietary multiphysics solvers were developed and validated over 30 years by leading organizations, including DARPA and the U.S. Department of Defense. OnScale quickly gained traction in the engineering simulation market, addressing the needs of industries such as semiconductor, biomedical, and autonomous vehicles.

Funding and Valuation

OnScale has raised a total of $18.1 million in funding over two rounds. The initial seed funding of $3 million was secured in March 2018, followed by a Series A round of $15.1 million in January 2019. Key investors include Intel Capital, Gradient Ventures, and Thornton Tomasetti. In April 2022, OnScale was acquired by Ansys, a leading provider of engineering simulation software.
