Minute7 provides cloud-based time and expense tracking with deep QuickBooks integration, targeted at small and mid-sized professional services (accounting, engineering, architecture, IT, legal, nonprofits). Its value proposition centers on simplifying timesheets and expense capture, streamlining approvals, and pushing data into QuickBooks for billing, payroll, and job costing, all at a low per‑user price point with web and mobile access.
Minute7 was founded around 2007, with sources attributing the founding to David Allison and later public-facing leadership, including CEO Marc Summe. The company has grown steadily but modestly, typically reported in the 11–50 employee range, with thousands of users rather than a hyperscale SaaS footprint.
The core product is a web app plus iOS/Android and desktop access for: timesheets, expense entry, mileage tracking, receipt attachment, approvals, and two‑way integration with QuickBooks Online and Desktop. Key capabilities include billable/non‑billable hours, time by client/project, configurable reports, multiple billing rates, audit trails, access controls/permissions, and export of data for payroll and invoicing.
Public materials emphasize simplicity, small‑team responsiveness, and close alignment with professional services workflows, highlighting ease of use, straightforward pricing, and direct support over “enterprise‑heavy” implementations. The blog and social content focus on helping firms improve billing accuracy, data quality, and compliance, indicating a pragmatic, customer‑service‑oriented culture rather than a hyper‑growth, VC‑driven mindset.
Minute7 serves “thousands of users,” primarily in North American small and mid-sized service businesses that rely on QuickBooks, spanning accounting, consulting, IT, engineering, architecture, nonprofits, and legal practices. Review platforms (Capterra, GetApp, G2) show a relatively small but positive review volume, with users consistently praising ease of use, QuickBooks integration, and responsive support, and occasionally noting UI age or limited advanced analytics compared with larger suites.
