StackBlitz
بواسطة StackBlitz, Inc.
StackBlitz (the cloud version) requires no installation—it runs instantly in the browser. However, StackBlitz Enterprise Server (the self‑hosted/on‑premises edition) follows a clear multi‑step implementation flow.
(Based on the official StackBlitz Enterprise installation guides)
StackBlitz Enterprise is deployed as a Kubernetes application.
You can install on:
Minimum server requirements:
Run the installer script:
Shell
curl -sSL https://k8s.kurl.sh/stackblitz | sudo bash
Show more lines
This boots the embedded Kubernetes instance and prompts through setup steps.
Install via KOTS:
Shell
curl https://kots.io/install | bash
kubectl kots install stackblitz
Show more lines
This installs the StackBlitz admin console and sets up port‑forwarding.
After installation, access the admin console at:
http://localhost:8800 (or your server’s IP).
You follow on‑screen preflight checks and environment configuration.
Drag‑and‑drop your Enterprise license file into the console to start image installation.
Configure:
Once the configuration completes, the instance boots and is ready for enterprise users.
If needed, multiple instances can be run (e.g., staging, testing).
The exact time varies based on the environment.
Based on the official installation flow:
StackBlitz Enterprise offers extensive customization, especially for security, authentication, registries, design systems, workflows, and integrations.
StackBlitz Enterprise supports SAML2‑based authentication, allowing companies to integrate their preferred identity provider.
Businesses can connect private registries such as:
This allows internal libraries to load safely inside the browser environment.
StackBlitz Enterprise Server can run:
This is mission‑critical for banks, governments, and Fortune 500 companies.
Enterprise admins can configure StackBlitz so that images are re‑tagged and pushed to internal registries, with YAML rewritten for custom deployments.
Admins can bring their own Postgres server (≥10.4) for data storage or use the built‑in option.
Companies can embed:
This makes StackBlitz a powerful tool for consistent UI/UX development.
Supports enterprise code hosting platforms:
Advanced installation allows:
Admins can customize:
WebContainers allow companies to tailor the runtime to:
Enterprise customers receive:
Businesses can operate multiple isolated instances (e.g., staging, sandbox, production).
StackBlitz’s public pricing covers general access (Personal, Pro, Teams, Enterprise), but additional costs apply primarily to StackBlitz Enterprise, the self‑hosted and fully customizable edition.
StackBlitz Enterprise requires deployment on Kubernetes (either your own cluster or using StackBlitz’s embedded Kubernetes installer).
While StackBlitz does not publicly list separate “setup fees”, the implementation does require:
Maintenance also falls on the customer for enterprise installations, including:
StackBlitz provides tooling (admin console, troubleshooting bundle generator) but customers maintain their own environment.
Enterprise licenses include:
Exact pricing is custom and not publicly listed.
Enterprise customers receive:
StackBlitz provides a variety of training, onboarding, and support options depending on the plan level.
StackBlitz offers extensive official documentation covering:
Enterprise customers receive:
These are designed to help teams deploy StackBlitz within corporate environments and optimize developer workflows.
StackBlitz provides:
New users can access:
StackBlitz also offers instructional sessions, such as the “Introducing StackBlitz for Enterprise” training presented at ng‑conf.
StackBlitz uses multiple layers of security across both cloud and enterprise editions.
StackBlitz runs all compute inside the browser sandbox, meaning:
This drastically reduces attack surface and eliminates VM‑level risks.
StackBlitz Enterprise Server can run:
This ensures complete data residency and isolation.
Supports integration with enterprise identity providers, ensuring secure, centralized authentication.
Enterprise customers can restrict package access to internal registries such as:
Ensures no code leaves corporate boundaries.
Admins can enforce:
Enterprise admin console includes:
WebContainers ensure:
StackBlitz releases updates continuously, as part of an ongoing development cycle. Their technology stack—especially WebContainers, Codeflow, and Enterprise Server—is updated and improved on a rolling basis. Evidence from StackBlitz’s blog shows frequent feature updates, monthly improvements, and ongoing enhancements to WebContainers and related tooling.
For Enterprise deployments, updates are admin‑managed through the Enterprise Admin Console, which provides:
Updates are pulled through the Kubernetes‑based installation system (via KOTS), and admins control when updates are applied, ensuring compatibility with corporate policies and security controls.
StackBlitz offers flexible scaling options, especially for Enterprise deployments.
Enterprise plans are priced based on the number of users, and organizations can increase or decrease seats as needed (this is embedded in their enterprise sales model). While exact terms are not publicly itemized, their enterprise contact information and pricing structure imply adjustable licensing based on team size.
Since StackBlitz Enterprise runs on Kubernetes, organizations can scale by:
Companies may run more than one instance simultaneously under an enterprise license, allowing flexible architecture scaling.
Enterprise customers can integrate:
These integrations allow scaling development workflows without changing the base platform.
Organizations can scale deployment models:
This flexibility makes it easy to expand or contract environments as business needs shift.
StackBlitz’s Terms of Service state that they may revise terms at any time without prior notice, and users are responsible for reviewing updates. Continued usage of StackBlitz services signifies acceptance of the updated terms.
This implies that subscription renewals occur under the most current Terms of Service.
For paid plans (Teams, Pro, Enterprise subscriptions tied to SaaS features), users can cancel at any time via:
StackBlitz → Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription
This is confirmed by both official UI references and third‑party cancellation guidance.
The cancellation process requires:
Cancellation is described as quick (≈ 15 minutes).
StackBlitz does not require contacting support to cancel a subscription—users can do it fully through the dashboard.
Bolt.new and StackBlitz share the same billing account. Canceling in StackBlitz cancels access to Bolt subscriptions as well.
