Banyon Data Systems, Inc. is a private software company founded in 1981, headquartered in Burnsville, Minnesota, USA. With over 35 years of experience, the company specializes in developing and supporting software solutions tailored for local governments, municipalities, and various public entities. Their product portfolio includes fund accounting, utility billing, and payroll software. Banyon Data has achieved over 2,000 installations across 34 states and provinces, boasting a 99% client retention rate.
The company's flagship product, Banyon Fund Accounting, enhances budget tracking and reporting capabilities for small to mid-sized government entities and non-profit organizations. The software includes features such as payables, receipts, general ledger, journal entries, check writing, checkbook balancing, budgets, project tracking, and report writing. Additional modules like invoicing, billing, and workflow management are available to extend its functionality. The software is priced starting at under $2,000.
Banyon Data offers a range of add-on modules to complement their fund accounting software, including purchase orders, asset tracking, deposit slip printing, ACH payments, and purchase card import. These modules are designed to provide a customized experience for users. However, some users have noted limited integration between modules and constraints due to the software's reliance on Microsoft Access.

Clients have praised the responsive support and user-friendly nature of the software. Banyon Data serves a diverse clientele, including cities, towns, villages, boroughs, water and sewer districts, electric cooperatives, gas companies, tribal councils, public libraries, cemeteries, and park and recreation commissions.
