Fly.io uses a usage‑based pricing model designed to let developers pay only for the resources they actually consume. Compute costs are billed per second while a Machine is running, based on the chosen CPU/RAM preset, and stopped Machines incur charges only for their attached root filesystem. Persistent NVMe volumes are priced at $0.15 per GB per month, and bandwidth is billed starting at around $0.02 per GB, depending on usage. Fly.io no longer offers a general free tier for new accounts, but organizations receive predictable billing through on‑demand usage or discounted machine reservations for long‑running workloads. This flexible structure allows small projects to remain inexpensive while enabling production systems to scale economically across multiple regions.
