AdvancedMD is a leading provider of cloud-based medical office software, specifically designed for small private medical practices. Based in South Jordan, Utah, the company employs approximately 800 people and serves an expansive national footprint of 60,000 practitioners across 10,000 practices and 825 medical billing companies. The software suite includes practice management, electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine, patient relationship management, and business analytics reporting, aiming to integrate practice and patient workflows for enhanced productivity and financial outcomes.

AdvancedMD's origins trace back to the mid-1990s when it started as a home-based reseller of medical billing software. The founder, a seasoned medical office manager, identified significant inadequacies in existing software solutions and teamed up with technology specialists to develop a web-based billing platform. By 2000, AdvancedMD was officially launched, offering a best-in-class billing solution. Over the years, the company has expanded its software development competencies to support comprehensive practice management, EHR, patient engagement, and business reporting.

AdvancedMD has undergone several acquisitions that have significantly influenced its growth and market presence. In 2008, it was acquired by Francisco Partners, followed by ADP, Inc. in 2011, Marlin Equity Partners in 2015, and finally by Global Payments Inc. in 2018. These acquisitions have provided the financial backing and strategic direction necessary for AdvancedMD to expand its product offerings and market reach.

• EHR: Features a powerful dashboard displaying outstanding tasks, critical issues, upcoming patient appointments, and a prioritized inbox.
• Medical Billing and Practice Management: Includes a centralized billing platform, automated claims management, integrated clearinghouse, electronic remittance advice, and insurance eligibility verification.
• Patient Engagement: Features like patient kiosks, messaging, portals, and reputation management enhance patient satisfaction and streamline administrative tasks.
• Telemedicine: Integrated telemedicine functionality allows for remote consultations, improving patient access to care.

AdvancedMD has made several strategic acquisitions to enhance its product offerings and capabilities. Notable acquisitions include PracticeOne EHR in 2009, PhyLogic Healthcare RCM in 2012, and NueMD software with a proprietary clearinghouse in 2018. These acquisitions have allowed AdvancedMD to integrate new technologies and expand its service offerings, including advanced reporting and analytics, patient engagement tools, and telemedicine solutions.

AdvancedMD continuously updates its platform with new features to meet evolving healthcare needs. Recent updates include the launch of a prescription drug monitoring program for EPCS, multi-factor authentication for all practice and patient applications, and the release of an AMA-aligned E/M coder. These enhancements aim to improve security, compliance, and overall user experience.

AdvancedMD fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, emphasizing the importance of integrating practice and patient workflows to enhance productivity and financial outcomes. The company is committed to providing best-in-class patient care and superior business outcomes for its clients. AdvancedMD's culture is built on continuous improvement and responsiveness to user feedback, ensuring that its solutions meet the dynamic needs of healthcare providers.

AdvancedMD serves a diverse user base, including small independent practices and larger healthcare organizations.
