Zenduty

Implementing Zenduty is a streamlined process designed to get teams up and running within minutes. The journey typically begins with creating a 'Team' and inviting members. Once the team structure is in place, users integrate their existing monitoring tools—such as Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic—using Zenduty's 100+ out-of-the-box integrations. This involves generating a unique webhook URL in Zenduty and pasting it into the monitoring tool's notification settings. After alerts are flowing, users configure 'On-Call Schedules' by defining rotations and shifts. The final step is setting up 'Escalation Policies' to determine the sequence of notifications (e.g., call the primary engineer, then escalate to the lead if unacknowledged after 5 minutes). For larger organizations, Zenduty offers dedicated developer resources during the trial phase to assist with complex migrations from legacy tools like PagerDuty or Opsgenie, often ensuring a full go-live within a few days to a couple of weeks depending on organizational complexity.

Zenduty offers extensive customization capabilities to fit any organization's unique incident response workflow. Users can customize 'Alert Routing Rules' using conditional logic based on alert payloads (e.g., route alerts containing 'critical' to the senior team). The notification experience is highly granular; each user can set their own preferences for how they want to be notified (SMS for P1, Email for P3). Incident response is further tailored through 'Playbooks', which allow for the creation of custom task templates that automatically attach to incidents. For the user interface, Zenduty supports custom 'Incident Tags' and 'Priorities' to match internal terminology. Developers can use the Zenduty API and Terraform provider to manage configurations as code, allowing for the programmatical creation of services and schedules. Furthermore, 'Stakeholder Templates' can be fully customized with branding and dynamic variables to ensure external communications are professional and informative.

Zenduty prides itself on a transparent pricing model with minimal hidden costs. The primary cost is the per-user monthly subscription fee. Unlike some competitors, Zenduty's 'Growth' and 'Enterprise' plans include unlimited international SMS and phone alerts, eliminating the risk of variable costs associated with high incident volumes. However, there may be additional costs for organizations requiring specialized services such as custom development work for unique integrations or on-site training sessions, though these are typically handled via separate enterprise agreements. There are no setup fees for the self-service plans. For the 'Enterprise' tier, the cost covers a dedicated account manager and priority support, which are bundled into the plan price. Organizations should also account for any internal costs related to the monitoring tools they integrate with Zenduty, as those tools maintain their own separate pricing structures.

Zenduty provides a multi-faceted training ecosystem to ensure users can maximize the platform's value. New users have access to 'Zenduty Docs', a comprehensive knowledge base with step-by-step integration guides and best practice articles. The company offers a 'Live Product Walkthrough' and recorded video tutorials that cover everything from basic setup to advanced AI features. For Enterprise customers, Zenduty provides personalized onboarding sessions and webinars tailored to the team's specific stack. There is also a dedicated support team available via chat and email to assist with technical queries. The 'Zenduty Blog' and 'SRE Best Practices Guide' serve as ongoing learning resources for teams looking to improve their operational culture. Additionally, the recent acquisition by Xurrent has expanded the available training resources to include broader ITSM/ITOM certifications and professional services to help mature IT organizations align their processes with industry standards.

Security is a foundational pillar of the Zenduty platform. The service is SOC 2 Type II compliant, having undergone rigorous third-party audits to verify its controls for security, availability, and confidentiality. All data is encrypted both in transit (using TLS 1.2+) and at rest (using AES-256). For access management, Zenduty supports Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML, allowing companies to use their existing identity providers like Okta, OneLogin, or Azure AD. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) ensures that users only have access to the teams and services relevant to their role. The platform also maintains detailed 'Audit Logs' that track every action taken by users, which is essential for compliance in regulated industries like finance and healthcare. Additionally, Zenduty follows GDPR guidelines for data privacy and provides features to help customers manage data retention and privacy requests, ensuring a secure environment for sensitive operational data.

Zenduty follows a continuous deployment model, with product updates and feature releases occurring frequently—often weekly or bi-weekly. Major features are typically announced via the company's blog and in-app notifications. The platform's SaaS nature ensures that all users are always on the latest version without the need for manual updates or downtime. Release notes are periodically published to keep the community informed of bug fixes, performance improvements, and new integration capabilities. The product development roadmap is heavily influenced by user feedback from the Zenduty Community and enterprise customer requests. Following the 2025 acquisition, the update frequency is expected to remain high as Zenduty integrates more deeply with the Xurrent ecosystem, focusing on AI-driven enhancements and broader ITOM functionality.

Zenduty maintains a clear policy that customers own all their incident data. Users have the right to export their data at any time, which is critical for compliance and internal reporting. Incident histories, audit logs, and analytics can be accessed via the web dashboard or retrieved programmatically through the Zenduty API. The API supports a wide range of data retrieval options, allowing teams to pipe their incident data into external BI tools or data lakes for long-term storage and analysis. In the event of contract termination, Zenduty provides pathways for users to extract their configurations and historical records. The data ownership terms are clearly outlined in the service agreement, ensuring that even as a subsidiary of Xurrent, the commitment to data portability and customer ownership remains unchanged.

Zenduty is architected to scale seamlessly with an organization's growth. The platform currently supports over 300 teams per account and can handle thousands of services and users. Its underlying infrastructure is built on highly available cloud services designed to handle rapid spikes in alert volume during 'major incident' events without latency. For organizations expanding globally, Zenduty's flexible scheduling handles diverse time zones and localized notification preferences effortlessly. The 'Multi-Team' structure allows large enterprises to grant autonomy to individual business units while maintaining central oversight through admin roles and global analytics. As a team grows from a few engineers to a large NOC (Network Operations Center) or multiple SRE teams, Zenduty's 'Growth' and 'Enterprise' plans provide the necessary governance and noise-reduction tools (like ZenAI and Advanced Alert Suppression) to ensure the system remains manageable and efficient.

Zenduty offers flexible contract terms designed for modern SaaS consumption. Subscriptions are typically available on both monthly and annual bases, with the latter often offering a cost saving. The service can be cancelled at any time, with access continuing until the end of the current billing cycle. For Enterprise customers, Zenduty offers formal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that guarantee platform uptime and support response times. Renewal is typically automatic unless specified otherwise by the customer. The terms of service include standard clauses regarding data privacy, security commitments (SOC 2), and acceptable use. Following the Xurrent acquisition, Zenduty's terms are being aligned with Xurrent's enterprise-grade legal framework, providing even more robust protections for large organizations, including clearer definitions of service commitments and liability, while maintaining the flexibility that its original customers value.

Zenduty is committed to maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance to serve customers in highly regulated sectors. The platform is SOC 2 Type II certified, which is the industry standard for secure data management in SaaS. It is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensuring that personal data of EU residents is handled with appropriate privacy safeguards. While Zenduty primarily manages technical incident data rather than sensitive personal health information, its security controls provide a solid foundation for organizations that need to meet HIPAA requirements. The platform also references ISO 27001 standards in its security posture. Customers can request the latest SOC 2 report for their internal compliance audits. By providing features like SSO, audit logs, and granular RBAC, Zenduty helps its customers satisfy their own internal and external compliance requirements across various jurisdictions including North America, Europe, and India.
