Resource Optimization: Several reviews highlight significant reductions in backend load and infrastructure costs after implementing Varnish.
Scalability: Enterprises appreciate how easily Varnish scales horizontally for private CDNs, OTT streaming, and API acceleration.
Flexibility & Programmability: The VCL (Varnish Configuration Language) gives developers granular control over caching and routing logic, which many consider a major advantage.
High Performance & Speed: Users praise Varnish Enterprise for its ability to handle massive traffic loads efficiently, reducing latency and improving user experience.
Cost Concerns: A few reviewers note that the enterprise edition’s pricing feels high compared to open-source Varnish, especially for smaller organizations.
Documentation Complexity: While comprehensive, documentation can be overwhelming for beginners, making onboarding slower.
Monitoring Limitations: Some users report that built-in monitoring tools feel basic and require external integrations (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for full observability.
Steep Learning Curve: VCL’s flexibility comes at a cost—new users find it complex and challenging without prior experience.
