ScriptSure

ScriptSure is a cloud-based e‑prescribing platform from D.A.W. Systems, Inc. (based in Latham, NY). It enables healthcare providers—including medical and veterinary clinicians—to securely transmit prescriptions (including controlled substances) to pharmacies across the U.S. via the Surescripts network. ScriptSure emphasizes intuitive workflow, fast prescribing, and built-in clinical safety tools.

• D.A.W. Systems is among the earliest e‑prescribing vendors, with over three decades of experience in clinical software. ScriptSure was initially developed in BASIC by practicing physicians to speed up prescription writing. 

   

• The platform is widely deployed across 50+ U.S. states and territories, serving small to mid‑size clinics, and integrated vendors. In 2024, ScriptSure expanded into veterinary e-prescribing, leveraging user input from veterinarians and their pharmacy partners.

Core e-Rx Capabilities

• ScriptSure Cloud ERX enables secure prescription of controlled and non-controlled medications, compound drugs, OTC/ vitam­­in products, with DEA-certified EPCS, formulary checks, medication history lookup, and refill/cancellation handling. 

   

• Features include drug-drug/allergy interaction alerts, favorite meds/templates, and seamless one-click workflows with integrated First DataBank drug data and Surescripts network connectivity.

   

Network & Clinical Integration:

• Surescripts certified (including the newer SCRIPT v6.0 standard), supporting NewRx, CancelRx, RenewalRequest, RxChangeRequest, and patient benefit data exchange. ScriptSure was the first EHR vendor to connect under SCRIPT v6.0 certification in 2018.

   

Workflow Enhancements & Alerts

• Unique Fill Status Alerts (FSA) notify prescribers if a prescription remains unpicked after 5 days; Physician Refill Alerts help proactively manage patient adherence.

   

• Embedded patient data (demographics, insurance, insurance formulary, prior medications) can be stored per patient for future prescribing.
