Custom Reporting Options: Reporting modules allow users to filter, customize, and analyze sales, inventory, and consignor metrics—such as sell-through rate or new consignors per month—with configurable fields to generate focused business insights.
Role-Based Access & User Permissions: Staff, vendor, and consignor roles and permissions can be customized, allowing granular control over what different users can see and do within the platform. This helps businesses tailor workflows and restrict sensitive information access.
Adjustable Payment and Payout Options: Ricochet supports configuration of multiple payment types (cash, credit, gift cards, store credit, layaway, etc.), commission splits, and payout preferences (check, ACH direct deposit, store credit), which can be tuned to each consignor’s situation.
Integrated eCommerce with Custom Styling: Their webstore add-on allows real-time inventory sync with customizable website themes, enabling stores to present their brand and product catalog online as needed.

The company is explicit in its privacy policy that any information you provide is used only for delivering services and internal improvements, and that your business and customer data is never sold or shared with third parties except trusted payment processors or where required by law (such as a merger, acquisition, or similar event). You, as the customer, retain ownership and control over your business’s operational data.
Data Portability: While Ricochet POS’s website and privacy materials do not go into technical details about data portability, best practices in the industry and Ricochet’s commitment to customer rights suggest that your data can be exported as needed. This includes commonly used formats for sales, inventory, and customer/consignor data for migration or backup purposes. Users typically have access to export functions via the reporting dashboard and may request additional data via support if needed. Data exports are structured for compatibility with other software or accounting platforms (e.g., CSV files for QuickBooks integration).
Right to Access and Transfer: Ricochet POS informs users of their right to access their information and explicitly states that data will not be withheld from you. If the company is acquired or undergoes a change of control, users are informed that data will be transferred only as part of the business structure, in line with statutory requirements, and with user consent.
Terms and conditions for contract renewal and cancellation for Ricochet POS:
Subscription and Renewal:
Ricochet POS offers subscriptions on either a monthly or annual basis.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled by the user. You do not need to manually renew the contract as long as your payment method is active.
For annual plans, renewal happens for another year; for monthly plans, it renews monthly.
Cancellation Process:
You can cancel your Ricochet POS subscription at any time through the software’s admin dashboard:
Go to Preferences → Admin → Account & Billing → Manage Subscription.
Select your plan and choose "Cancel Subscription," state the reason, and confirm cancellation.
Upon cancellation, your account and data remain accessible until the end of the current billing cycle (the last prepaid period: either the month or the year you’ve paid for).
There is no penalty for early cancellation, and you are not locked into a long-term contract unless you have paid for annual service upfront.
Refunds:
For annual subscriptions, Ricochet POS generally provides a refund for unused months remaining in that year’s term, although this refund remains subject to the company’s discretion and is not automatic.
For monthly subscriptions, no refund is given for unused days within the billing period—you simply retain access until the next scheduled renewal or billing date.
Contractual Notice: For organizations or collectives using Ricochet POS (e.g., consignment collectives, retail partners), additional notice periods may be required by custom contract, as some storefront users require up to 90 days’ notice not to renew. You should check the exact terms if you are part of a larger affiliated group.
Data Portability and Deletion: After account cancellation, you must export any needed data before your billing cycle ends, as all user and store data will be permanently deleted from Ricochet’s servers at that time. Recovery is not possible after deletion.
Ricochet POS is built to comply with core industry standards for retail payment software, particularly focusing on security and regulatory requirements relevant to handling payment data and taxation:
PCI Compliance (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, PCI DSS): Ricochet POS is designed to work with PCI-compliant payment processors and operates under PCI DSS standards for all credit and debit card transactions. This ensures cardholder data is managed securely, safeguarding against breaches. The platform does not store full credit card numbers; only the last four digits are accessible for verification, with all sensitive card data encrypted by trusted merchant service portals.
Tax Compliance Integrations: Ricochet POS integrates with tools such as Avalara Tax Compliance Suite, which supports the calculation, filing, and remittance of sales tax and ensures stores meet jurisdictional documentation and compliance requirements for taxation.
Encryption & Secure Data Practices: All sensitive data is encrypted in transit, and the underlying infrastructure uses cloud-hosted, enterprise-grade security standards. The software supports two-factor authentication (2FA) for employees and consignors to further bolster account security.
Role-Based Access & Data Privacy: User access controls and detailed permissions allow businesses to set strict limits on who can view or interact with sensitive data, supporting privacy requirements and the principle of least privilege.
