Branding and Design: Pathwright allows full branding of the Learning Space and individual Paths. You can upload custom cover images, headers, and backgrounds, set navigation bar logos, and use custom CSS to style fonts and layouts. This ensures the platform reflects your company’s visual identity.
Cohorts and Group Features: Create multiple cohorts for any Path, each with its own teachers, discussions, schedules, pricing, and personalized feedback. This supports tailored learning experiences for different teams, departments, or customer segments.
Flexible Publishing Options: Paths can be shared as invitation-only, for members only, or published publicly in a branded library. You can also set Paths to be free, paid, or subscription-based, depending on business needs.
Content Customization: Instructors can add, remove, copy, and reorder steps and lessons in Design mode, making it easy to adapt content for specific audiences or evolving requirements.
Personalized Messaging and Automation: Integration with tools like Zapier and Whippy AI enables automated, personalized communication with learners based on their progress, supporting targeted guidance and engagement.
Custom Integrations: Pathwright supports integration with over 2,000 apps via Zapier, as well as custom integrations with Intercom, Stripe, Google Analytics, and others. Enterprise customers can access GraphQL APIs and webhooks for bespoke development.
Progress Tracking and Analytics: Customizable reports and analytics allow businesses to monitor learner progress, engagement, and course effectiveness, supporting data-driven decision-making.
Customizable Navigation and Library: The Library can be styled with custom banners, categories, author profiles, and about pages, making it easy for learners to find and access relevant content.

Pathwright implements several robust security measures to protect user and organizational data:
Full SSL Encryption: Every page within a Pathwright account is secured with an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate, ensuring that all data transmitted between users’ browsers and Pathwright’s servers is encrypted. This is similar to the encryption standards used by banks and is indicated by the "https" in the URL.
Password Security: User passwords are encrypted and stored securely using industry-standard encryption methods. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Access Control: Account owners and administrators can control who has access to courses or the entire learning environment, allowing for granular management of permissions.
Data Collection and Privacy: Pathwright collects only essential user information (such as name, email address, and encrypted password) and does not collect sensitive data like credit card numbers or physical addresses unless explicitly provided for business or support purposes. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers like Stripe, which complies with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
Data Management and Deletion: Users can access, correct, amend, or delete their data at any time. Requests for permanent data deletion are processed within 30 days. Pathwright retains some information in anonymized or archived form only as required for backups or legal obligations.
Daily Backups: Pathwright performs daily backups to protect against data loss, ensuring that information can be restored in the event of a technical issue.
Compliance with Privacy Regulations: Pathwright is GDPR compliant and has appointed a Data Protection Officer. The platform supports custom privacy policies and opt-in consent features for users, particularly important for organizations serving EU residents.
Pathwright releases updates on a regular and structured schedule:
Weekly Updates: Smaller batches of updates, including bug fixes, platform maintenance, and enhancements to existing features, are typically released at the beginning of each week. This allows Pathwright to address issues and improve the platform continuously.
Seasonal Cycles: More significant feature releases are grouped into seasonal cycles, which generally last around three months or more. Each season is focused on a particular theme or set of features (for example, mentorship or cohort management), and these major updates are announced via the Changelog within the platform, by email, or through live preview events for important launches.
Pathwright’s policy on data ownership and portability is outlined in its Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Data Ownership
User Ownership: Pathwright explicitly states that you retain all ownership rights in the content you create and upload to the platform. This means that as an account owner or course creator, you maintain control over your intellectual property and course materials.
Account Control: Account owners and administrators have significant control over their data, including the ability to access, modify, and delete user information and content within their Pathwright account.
No Data Selling: Pathwright will never sell your personal information or the information of your learners to third parties.
Data Portability
Access and Export: Users can access, correct, amend, or delete their personal information and content at any time through their account settings.
Data Deletion: Upon request, Pathwright will permanently delete user data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in archived or anonymized form for backup or legal obligations, but this does not include personally identifiable information unless required by law.
Account Cancellation: If you cancel your account, Pathwright will delete your personally identifiable information as soon as reasonably practicable or as required by law.
Pathwright offers flexible terms for scaling your organization up or down as your needs change, primarily through its tiered pricing plans and adjustable member or staff counts:
Flexible Pricing Plans: Pathwright provides several plans—Starter, Essentials, Complete, and Enterprise—each designed to accommodate different organizational sizes and needs. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan as your requirements evolve.
Member Scaling: All plans include the first 1,000 members at no extra cost. If your organization grows beyond this, you can add members in blocks (such as 250, 500, 1,000, or 2,000), with the incremental cost per member decreasing as you scale up. If you need to scale down, you can remove inactive members at any time, and they will no longer count toward your bill. You can also set members to regain access automatically upon their next sign-in, making scaling both up and down seamless.
Staff Scaling: Each plan includes a set number of staff (administrators, editors, or lead mentors). If you need more staff than your current plan allows, you can add extra staff for a small monthly fee without upgrading your entire plan. Conversely, if you need fewer staff, you can remove them as needed.
Enterprise-Level Customization: For larger organizations, the Enterprise Plan offers highly customizable terms, including unlimited courses and cohorts, additional staff at $12/month per person, and custom integrations. This plan is designed to scale with your organization and can be tailored to your exact needs.
Pathwright’s terms and conditions for contract renewal and cancellation are designed to be flexible and user-friendly, with several key data points for both administrators and learners:
Automatic Renewal: Pathwright plans are typically set to auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually), unless you cancel your subscription or change your plan.
Billing Cycle: You can choose to pay monthly or annually. Annual plans provide a 10% discount on standard pricing.
Notification of Changes: For monthly plans, Pathwright reserves the right to change prices, but will provide at least 90 days’ notice unless otherwise specified in a separate agreement.
First Month Free: If you activate a monthly plan, your first month is free. If you cancel within the first 30 days, you will not be billed.
Upgrade/Downgrade: You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time, and your billing will adjust accordingly in the next cycle.
Scholarships: You can apply for a scholarship on any plan, but this cannot be combined with the annual discount.
Administrator Cancellation: Account owners and administrators can cancel their subscription at any time by emailing [email protected], using the in-app messenger, or via chat45. You can also cancel directly from your account settings.
Cancellation Effective Date: When you cancel, you can choose to cancel at the end of your current billing cycle or immediately. If you cancel immediately, you will lose access right away; if you cancel at the end of the cycle, you retain access until the end of the period.
Refunds: If a refund is due (for example, for a learner’s subscription), it must be issued via Stripe if you use Stripe for billing.
Data Retention and Access: After cancellation, your work remains intact and you can reactivate your account at any time under the same URL. Only the account owner/admin can access courses and build after deactivation; learners, moderators, teachers, and editors will not have access.
Confirmation Required: For account closure, confirmation from the account owner is required, and processing may take up to two business days.
Legacy Plans: If you are on a plan from before Fall 2016, a custom plan, or a scholarship plan, you may not be able to return to that plan if you reactivate.
Learner Self-Cancellation: Learners can cancel their own subscriptions by going to their profile settings, selecting "Billing," then "Manage Subscription," and confirming cancellation.
Access After Cancellation: Learners retain access to all content through the end of their current billing period. At the end of the period, they can resubscribe at any time.
Pathwright’s software is designed and operated to meet several key compliance standards, ensuring data security, privacy, and regulatory alignment:

This includes appointing a Data Protection Officer, providing data processing agreements (DPAs) upon request, enabling users to access, export, and request deletion of their data within 30 days, and supporting custom privacy policies and opt-in consent features for organizations serving EU residents.
FERPA and COPPA: Pathwright incorporates terms into its Privacy Policy and Terms of Use to help organizations comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The platform does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and will delete such information if discovered.
