Sign up and create a free Lovable account, which usually takes just a few minutes using email, Google, or GitHub.
Create your first project by entering a natural‑language prompt describing the app you want; Lovable generates a working full‑stack scaffold in 1–3 minutes.
Review and iterate on the generated app using chat prompts, visual edits, and the built‑in code editor to adjust UI, flows, and logic; early customization typically takes 30–90 minutes for a simple MVP.
Connect backend services like Supabase (database, auth, storage) and any required APIs such as Stripe for payments; guided tutorials show this can often be done in 30–60 minutes for common patterns.
Lovable is highly customizable and is explicitly designed to fit very specific business workflows, branding, and technical requirements.
Full code ownership and editing: Lovable generates a real React/Supabase codebase that you can freely edit, extend, or refactor, so any business‑specific logic, data model, or integration can be implemented at the code level instead of being constrained by templates.
Prompt‑driven feature tailoring: You can describe niche flows like “client intake pipeline,” “booking system,” or “multi‑tenant client dashboard,” and the AI scaffolds those flows, which you then refine via chat or Agent Mode with instructions like “change this to weekly metrics” or “add a CSV export.”
Domain‑specific rules via Knowledge: Workspace and project “knowledge” let you define coding standards, preferred libraries, naming conventions, brand voice, and architecture rules once, so every generated feature respects your organization’s guidelines automatically.
Business‑oriented use cases: Official guides show Lovable being adapted for small‑business websites, booking systems, project trackers, automated client onboarding, and customer dashboards, with Stripe payments, emails, and automation wired to each company’s exact process.
White‑labeling and branding: The Enterprise plan supports deep customization and full white‑labeling—custom domains (e.g., app.yourcompany.com), custom colors, fonts, logos, favicons, and white‑labeled system emails—so end users see only your brand, not Lovable’s.
Integrations and APIs: Enterprise customers get full API access and support for custom connectors, enabling integration with CRMs, data warehouses, internal APIs, and legacy systems to match specific business stacks.
Workspace‑level configuration: Workspaces can be tailored with their own settings, avatars, naming, member roles, and shared knowledge, allowing different departments or client accounts to follow distinct configurations inside one organization.
Lovable’s core SaaS plans are flat subscription plus usage‑based credits, with no mandatory setup or maintenance fees for standard customers. The Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers include hosting on Lovable Cloud, AI model access, updates, and platform maintenance as part of the monthly price, so you do not pay extra “platform maintenance” or upgrade charges beyond your subscription and any optional credit top‑ups.
Additional variable costs mainly revolve around credit usage: if a team exhausts its included monthly credits, it can buy on‑demand top‑up packs (e.g., 50–1,000+ credits) that are billed separately but still within the self‑serve pricing interface. There are no published one‑time setup fees for regular workspaces; however, Lovable does offer separately contracted Consultancy Services for implementation help, custom development, or termination assistance, which are billed on a time‑and‑materials basis under their own terms and Statements of Work. Premium or dedicated support, security reviews, and advanced governance features are bundled into Business/Enterprise pricing rather than sold as à‑la‑carte support tickets, so larger organizations effectively pay for higher‑touch support through their plan level instead of separate maintenance retainers.
Lovable offers a mix of structured documentation, tutorials, and direct support to help new users ramp up quickly.
For self‑service training, Lovable maintains a full documentation site with “Quick start” guides, feature overviews, best‑practice articles, security and deployment docs, and an FAQ, all written to walk beginners from first project to production app. The team also publishes official tutorial videos and product‑walkthrough content (e.g., “Lovable Tutorials,” “Master Lovable AI in 30 Minutes,” and full beginner builds) that demonstrate real projects, from setting up Supabase and GitHub to deploying apps, which effectively function as free training sessions.
On the support side, Lovable has a formal support policy that covers billing issues, platform bugs, account problems, workarounds, and general product guidance via a web support form and email. Free users primarily get community help through the Discord server, while paid users receive same‑day responses for platform‑related issues and can use a “Speak to a human” option in addition to AI‑powered in‑product assistance. Public listings also provide a general support email ([email protected]) and emphasize that customer service responds asynchronously, giving startups and teams a clear escalation path beyond the docs and tutorials.
Lovable combines certified cloud security, strong infrastructure controls, and in‑product safeguards to protect both platform data and the apps you build.
At the infrastructure level, Lovable encrypts data in transit (TLS) and at rest, runs on SOC 2‑ and ISO 27001‑certified data centers, and enforces network isolation, web application firewalls, adaptive rate limiting, continuous backups, centralized logging, and real‑time monitoring. Organizationally, it operates under a SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001:2022 information‑security management system, with least‑privilege access via role‑based permissions, SSO/identity‑provider integrations, and regular third‑party audits and vulnerability assessments.
Inside the product, Lovable adds AI‑assisted security: automatic detection of pasted API keys and guidance to move them into secure Secrets, enforced server‑side Edge Functions for sensitive logic, and a multi‑scanner Security Center that runs RLS analysis, database checks, code security reviews, and dependency audits before publishing. Row‑level security on Supabase, workspace access controls, security checklists, and policy enforcement against malware, phishing, and abuse (blocking roughly 1,000 malicious projects per day) further reduce data‑exposure risks for apps deployed on Lovable Cloud.
Lovable ships updates frequently on a continuous delivery cycle, with weekly improvements and larger feature drops several times per year.
The platform maintains a public changelog where engineering logs near‑weekly changes, including new capabilities (like Dev Mode, audit logs, and extended agent runtimes), UX tweaks, and integrations, reflecting a rapid, iterative release cadence rather than big, infrequent versions. Major releases such as “Lovable 2.0” bundle larger upgrades—multiplayer collaboration, smarter chat agents, enhanced security scanning, and a revamped visual editor—and are announced via blog posts, videos, and LinkedIn, often framed as milestones in their “vibe coding” roadmap. Updates are managed entirely server‑side on Lovable’s cloud, so new features, security fixes, and performance improvements roll out automatically without user installs, and are tracked through versioning, audit logs, and product‑update pages linked from the support section.
Lovable’s policies clearly distinguish between what customers own, what Lovable owns, and how easily data can be moved out of the platform.
Customer “Data” (apps, code, content, and end‑user records) is defined as Customer Data, and Lovable treats the customer as the controller/owner of that material. The Data Processing Agreement states Lovable processes Customer Personal Data “solely on behalf of and under the instructions of the Customer,” while the customer remains responsible for the legality, accuracy, and secure configuration of their own apps and databases (e.g., Supabase). Lovable retains ownership of Service/Usage Data (telemetry, logs, analytics) and may use this de‑identified or aggregated data for monitoring, benchmarking, product improvement, and security, but commits not to sell Customer Personal Data and not to use it for unrelated commercial purposes.
On portability, Lovable is designed around exportable, human‑readable code: projects can be synced to GitHub or downloaded, so you can take your full React/Supabase app and host or continue development elsewhere without vendor lock‑in. The Privacy Policy and DPA also grant GDPR‑style rights of access and portability for personal data, letting customers (and their end users via the customer) request copies of personal information Lovable holds in a structured format. Operationally, this means organizations can both migrate the application codebase off Lovable and request exports of personal data, while Lovable may retain anonymized usage data indefinitely for analytics as allowed under its terms.
Lovable uses flexible, credit‑based plans so organizations can scale usage up or down without changing tools.
Multiple plan levels: Free, Pro, Business, and custom Enterprise tiers primarily differ by included monthly credits, collaboration features, and governance/security options, letting teams match spend to workload.
Easy upgrades: You can upgrade plan and credit levels any time from Settings → Workspace → Plans & credits; when you move to a higher credit tier, your total monthly credits are increased immediately to the new allowance (you only get the difference, not a full reset).
Credit top‑ups for spikes: Pro and Business workspaces can buy one‑off top‑ups (50–1,000 credits) that are added instantly and remain valid for 12 months, ideal for temporary surges without committing to a higher recurring plan.
Scaling discounts: Higher credit bundles have better per‑credit pricing, and Pro/Business tiers scale from a few hundred to thousands of credits per month, with Enterprise offering custom credit volumes and usage‑based deals for very high traffic.
Downgrades and downsizing: You can downgrade to lower credit tiers or back to the Free plan from the same billing page; the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so you keep your existing limits until renewal.
Lovable uses standard SaaS, auto‑renewing subscriptions with credit‑based usage, flexible downgrades, and generally non‑refundable periods.
Auto‑renewal: Pro and Business plans are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically at the end of each term until you downgrade to Free or cancel via Stripe; annual plans renew for another year unless changed beforehand.
How to cancel: You cancel by downgrading to the Free plan inside Lovable (Settings → Plans & Billing → Downgrade) and then completing cancellation in the Stripe portal, where you click “Cancel Subscription.”
When cancellation takes effect: Cancellation stops future renewals but does not end the current paid period; you keep Pro/Business access and credits until the end of the current billing cycle, after which your account reverts to the Free plan.
Impact on apps and access: When downgraded, your apps are not deleted, but you lose Pro features, AI credits, CI/CD, and some editing capabilities; you can still access projects within Free‑plan limits.
Credits, rollover, and forfeiture: Monthly paid credits roll over while you maintain an active paid plan (with higher limits on annual plans); if you cancel, remaining credits stay usable only until the period ends, and if Lovable terminates for your breach, all remaining credits are forfeited immediately.
Vendor termination rights: Lovable can terminate or modify services with advance notice, or immediately for breaches, security, or legal reasons, in which case remaining credits are applied to any fees due and then expire.
Lovable is officially SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and ISO 27001:2022 certified, with audits performed by independent firms like Prescient Security and ongoing recertification and SOC 2 cycles scheduled (e.g., next Type II in Q3 2026). These attestations cover security, availability, and confidentiality controls across the platform, and Lovable markets “enterprise‑grade” protections such as encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, SSO, audit logs, backups, and vulnerability scanning as part of its enterprise security posture.
From a privacy and data‑protection standpoint, Lovable provides a GDPR‑compliant Data Processing Agreement and explicitly frames itself as a processor of “Customer Personal Data” under EU/UK law. The Privacy Policy details rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability, plus opt‑out from “sales or sharing” under U.S. privacy regimes, while stating that Lovable does not sell personal information and maintains records of processing and regular risk assessments in line with GDPR Article 30. The DPA clarifies that Lovable processes customer data only on documented instructions, uses bound personnel, and allows customers to request security documentation and data‑protection terms for enterprise due diligence, while customers remain responsible for secure configuration of their own apps and Supabase data layer.
