FreeCAD

Open-Source and Free: Users appreciate that FreeCAD is open-source and free, making it accessible to everyone without financial barriers. This aspect is frequently highlighted as a major advantage over commercial CAD software.

Parametric Modeling Capabilities: FreeCAD is praised for its robust parametric modeling capabilities, which allow users to easily modify designs by changing underlying parameters. This feature is particularly valued by those engaged in engineering and design professions.

Community Support: The active community around FreeCAD is often mentioned positively. Users find the community helpful, especially when it comes to solving problems and learning how to use the software effectively.

Customization: The ability to customize FreeCAD through Python scripting and macros is highly regarded. This flexibility allows users to tailor the software to their specific needs and workflows.

User Interface and Usability: Several users find the user interface non-intuitive and mention a steep learning curve. New users, in particular, might find it challenging to navigate and use the software efficiently without prior CAD experience.

Performance Issues: Some reviews point out that FreeCAD can be slow, especially with complex models, and that it occasionally suffers from stability issues, leading to crashes or bugs.

Feature Completeness: While FreeCAD is powerful, some users note that it lacks some of the advanced features and polish of its commercial counterparts. This can be a limitation for professional users who need very specific capabilities for their projects.

Documentation: Although there is a lot of documentation available, some users feel that it is not always easy to find specific information. New users might struggle without guidance on where to start or how to find relevant tutorials.
