argvis; Maintenance Portal

The implementation of the argvis; Maintenance Portal typically follows a structured 10 to 12-week journey, though simpler setups can go live faster. It begins with a 2-day 'SAP PM Optimization Workshop' where an argvis; expert reviews the client's current SAP data structures, master data (functional locations, equipment), and maintenance processes. This is followed by the technical installation, which requires the setup of SAP OData services and the SAP Gateway. Because argvis; uses standard SAP technologies, no additional proprietary middleware is usually required. Once the backend is prepared, the portal is themed to the client's corporate identity, and the mobile apps are deployed. The process concludes with a 'Train-the-Trainer' session and a pilot phase before the final go-live.

argvis; provides extensive customization options to ensure the portal fits perfectly into the client's existing workflows and branding. Users can customize the visual interface, including logos, colors, and the dashboard layout to match their corporate identity. Beyond aesthetics, the tool allows for deep workflow configuration; fields in notifications, orders, and checklists can be toggled or made mandatory based on specific business rules. For unique enterprise requirements, argvis; offers custom development services to create bespoke SAP UI5 components or ABAP backend extensions. This ensures that while the core product remains standard and upgradeable, the user experience can be tailored to the specific language and processes of the client's maintenance department.

The transparent 'all-in' pricing model of argvis; aims to minimize hidden costs, but there are certain variables to consider. The base implementation fee covers the initial setup and the mandatory optimization workshop. Ongoing costs typically include the annual software maintenance and support fee, which ensures access to regular updates and technical helpdesk services. Additional costs may arise if the client requires on-site training instead of remote sessions, or if they request significant custom development beyond the standard configuration. Travel expenses for consultants are billed at cost. However, because the solution uses the client's existing SAP licenses for data processing, there are no additional database or per-transaction fees charged by argvis;.

argvis; adopts a 'practitioners for practitioners' philosophy for its training programs. They offer several training variants, including remote sessions via Microsoft Teams, on-site classroom training, and individual one-on-one coaching at the workplace. The curriculum is divided into functional blocks such as 'SAP PM Basics,' 'Master Data Management,' and 'Mobile Maintenance Execution.' To facilitate long-term learning, argvis; provides customized documentation including screenshots of the client's own system and processes. They also host 'argvis; Club' meetings which serve as an ongoing peer-learning platform where experienced users share advanced tips and tricks with new adopters.

Security is a top priority given the solution's deployment in critical infrastructure and defense sectors. All data communication between the mobile devices and the SAP system is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/SSL). The solution utilizes the client's existing SAP security infrastructure, including SAP user roles and authorizations, ensuring that workers only see the data they are permitted to access. As a German company, argvis; is strictly compliant with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), and since the data typically stays within the client's SAP environment (on-premise or private cloud), the client maintains full sovereignty over their sensitive maintenance information. Regular security reviews and compatibility tests with the latest SAP patches are part of the standard maintenance contract.

argvis; Maintenance Portal follows a continuous improvement cycle with major feature updates released approximately twice a year, supplemented by frequent minor enhancements and security patches. Updates are designed to be non-disruptive; because the solution is built on standard SAP UI5 and OData, it remains compatible with SAP ECC and S/4HANA upgrades. Clients with an active maintenance contract receive these updates automatically. The mobile apps are updated through standard enterprise app stores (like Microsoft Intune or MobileIron) or the public App Store/Google Play Store, depending on the client's MDM (Mobile Device Management) strategy. The 'argvis; Club' community plays a vital role in deciding which new features are prioritized in each release.

The client retains 100% ownership of all data processed through the argvis; Maintenance Portal. Since the solution acts as a frontend for SAP, all maintenance records, photos, and time confirmations are stored directly in the client's own SAP database. argvis; does not host the customer's operational data on its own servers unless specifically requested in a managed cloud scenario. This architecture ensures that if a client ever chooses to stop using the portal, all historical maintenance data remains fully accessible and portable within their core SAP system. Data export is handled through standard SAP reporting tools and ALV grids, providing maximum flexibility for auditing and external analysis.

The argvis; Maintenance Portal is built for high scalability, supporting organizations ranging from single-site operations to global enterprises with thousands of assets. The architecture leverages the scalability of the underlying SAP system and the efficiency of the Node.js/OData middleware to handle high transaction volumes. A recent success story involves a production company scaling the solution across 15 different sites simultaneously. Because the portal is web-based and the mobile app is native, adding new users is as simple as granting them an SAP role and providing login credentials. The system also supports multi-language deployments and varied regional maintenance processes within a single installation, making it ideal for large-scale organizational growth.

argvis; typically offers software licenses on a subscription basis or as a perpetual license with an associated maintenance agreement. Subscription terms are usually annual, with renewal and cancellation policies clearly defined in the Master Service Agreement (MSA). Standard Service Level Agreements (SLAs) cover system availability for cloud components and response times for technical support inquiries. The contract also includes provisions for the 'argvis; Club' membership and access to the latest product documentation. Cancellation typically requires a notice period of three months prior to the end of the contract term, ensuring a smooth transition or data handover if needed.

argvis; is fully committed to European data protection standards and is GDPR compliant. The solution is designed to support the client's own compliance goals, such as ISO 55000 for asset management and various industry-specific safety regulations. By providing lückenlose Dokumentation (gapless documentation) and digital signatures for work permits and checklists, argvis; helps companies meet the strict audit requirements of the manufacturing and energy sectors. Furthermore, the systematic 'Ursachenanalyse' module supports ISO 9001 quality management standards by providing a formal process for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). As a partner for the Bundeswehr, argvis; also adheres to high standards of internal process security and reliability.
