ARCON Privileged Access Management
By ARCON
The typical implementation process for ARCON Privileged Access Management (PAM) software involves several key stages, ensuring a smooth deployment and integration into an organization's IT environment. Here is a brief overview of the process:
Planning: This initial stage involves assessing the organization's specific needs and infrastructure requirements. A detailed implementation plan is developed, outlining the timelines, resources, and specific goals of the deployment.
Installation: ARCON PAM can be installed as software on-premises, as a cloud service, or as a managed service. This stage involves setting up the necessary hardware and software infrastructure, including servers and databases, to support the PAM solution.
Configuration: Once installed, the software components are configured to align with the organization's security policies and access management needs. This includes setting up secure gateways, databases, and web components, as well as customizing settings for specific use cases.
Integration: ARCON PAM is integrated with existing IT systems and applications using its large connector framework. This ensures seamless operation and compatibility with other security solutions and IT infrastructure components.
Testing: Thorough testing is conducted to ensure all components are functioning correctly and securely. User acceptance testing is also performed to validate that the system meets business requirements.
Training: Training sessions are provided for IT staff and end-users to ensure they understand how to use and manage the PAM system effectively.
Deployment: The PAM solution is rolled out across the organization, with careful monitoring to address any issues that arise promptly.
ARCON Privileged Access Management (PAM) is highly customizable to fit specific business needs. Here are several data points supporting this:
Scalability and Customization: ARCON PAM is described as highly scalable and customizable, making it suitable for various enterprise IT architectures. This flexibility allows organizations to tailor the solution to their specific requirements, ensuring robust security for privileged accounts.
Integration Capabilities: The solution offers extensive integration capabilities, supporting dynamic use cases such as just-in-time access, adaptive authentication, and context-aware controls. It also integrates with DevOps environments, which is crucial for businesses with complex IT infrastructures.
Centralized Management: ARCON PAM provides a centralized governing framework to manage, control, and monitor all privileged accounts. This centralized approach allows businesses to implement rule and role-based privilege entitlements, enhancing security and compliance.
Granular Access Control: The solution offers fine-grained access control, enabling organizations to restrict and control privileged users through a centralized policy. This feature is essential for businesses that need to manage access to sensitive systems and data precisely.
Password Management: ARCON PAM includes a mature password vault that can automatically generate and change strong passwords for multiple devices or systems. This feature helps organizations manage complex and dynamic password requirements, aligning with evolving regulatory mandates.
AI and Machine Learning: The solution leverages AI and machine learning to predict risks from anomalous privileged identity profiles, helping businesses build a robust 'Zero Trust' architecture.
ARCON University: This is an online training and learning platform that provides updated guidelines, documentation, and videos to help users understand the product and services. It offers certification programs for different levels, including PAM Basics, PAM Administrator, PAM Implementer, and PAM Professional. Training is available both online and offline, tailored to clients' requirements.
Live Demos: ARCON offers live demonstrations of their products, which can help users understand the functionalities and optimize their use of the solutions.
Least Privilege Principle: ARCON PAM enforces the principle of least privilege, ensuring that users have the minimum level of access necessary to perform their tasks. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive data.
Secure Access Controls: The solution provides secure access controls, including just-in-time access, adaptive authentication, and context-aware controls. These features help manage and monitor access to privileged accounts, ensuring that only authorized users can access sensitive systems and data.
Zero-Trust Architecture: ARCON PAM is built on a zero-trust architecture, which means that it does not automatically trust anything inside or outside its perimeters. Instead, it verifies every request as though it originates from an open network.
Comprehensive Integration: The solution offers extensive integration capabilities with various IT environments, ensuring robust security for high-value systems and data. This includes integration with DevOps environments and the ability to handle dynamic use cases.
Security Gateways: ARCON PAM creates a perimeter for core digital assets by regulating access through security gateways. This helps protect technologies like operating systems, databases, web servers, network equipment, and other critical infrastructure.
ARCON Privileged Access Management (PAM) releases updates on a regular basis, with a focus on maintaining security and staying ahead of emerging threats. The update management process is streamlined to ensure minimal disruption to existing systems. Updates are typically managed through automated deployment mechanisms that allow for seamless integration into the existing IT environment. This approach reduces the need for extensive manual intervention, ensuring that businesses can quickly benefit from the latest security enhancements and features without significant downtime.
ARCON Privileged Access Management (PAM) : Has a clear policy on data ownership and portability. Organizations retain full ownership of their data, including all information captured, monitored, and controlled by the ARCON PAM system. This ensures that while the platform manages and secures privileged access, the client organization maintains sovereignty over their data.
Modular Architecture: ARCON PAM is designed with a modular architecture that allows organizations to easily add or remove resources as needed. This flexibility ensures that the solution can grow with the organization's needs without requiring significant additional investments in IT infrastructure.
SaaS Model: The ARCON PAM SaaS model offers scalability and flexibility, making it easier for organizations to manage their IT infrastructure. This model supports both hybrid cloud and distributed data center environments, allowing for seamless scaling.
Just-in-Time Access: This feature allows organizations to grant access to privileged accounts only when necessary, reducing the risk of over-privileged entitlements and ensuring that access is scaled according to situational demands.
Extensive Integration Capabilities: ARCON PAM supports over 300 connectors, enabling seamless integration with various applications and services. This capability allows organizations to scale their PAM environment quickly and efficiently.
Hybrid Architecture Support: ARCON PAM supports both on-premise and cloud infrastructures, which is crucial for organizations that are transitioning to or expanding their cloud environments. This support ensures that the PAM solution can scale across different IT environments.
Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): The architecture of ARCON PAM is designed to minimize third-party and software requirements, keeping the total cost of ownership low. This cost-effectiveness is particularly beneficial when scaling the solution.
Automatic Renewal: ARCON PAM contracts typically include an automatic renewal clause, which means the contract will renew for an additional term unless either party provides notice of non-renewal within a specified period before the current term ends.
Notice Period: The required notice period for non-renewal is often 30 to 90 days before the expiration of the current contract term, although this can vary based on the specific terms agreed upon in the contract.
Renewal Terms: Upon renewal, the terms of the original contract, including pricing, may continue unless renegotiated by both parties. ARCON may offer the option to update the contract terms during the renewal process to reflect any changes in service offerings or pricing structures.
Early Termination: Customers may have the option to terminate the contract early, but this may involve paying an early termination fee, which is typically a percentage of the remaining contract value.
Termination for Breach: Either party can cancel the contract if the other party breaches any of its terms and fails to remedy the breach within a specified cure period, often 30 days.
PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard): ARCON PAM helps organizations comply with PCI-DSS by managing, monitoring, and controlling access to card data processors. It enforces rule and role-based access control, multi-factor authentication, and password vaulting to protect sensitive cardholder data.
