Strata

Strata Identity addresses one of the most persistent and costly challenges facing modern enterprises: identity fragmentation. As organizations inevitably expand across complex hybrid cloud environments, they are forced to adopt multiple identity providers (IDPs)—such as Microsoft Entra, Okta, Ping, and others—while grappling with a vast sprawl of mission-critical, decades-old applications tied to legacy on-premises identity systems. This architectural fracturing creates a technical debt roadblock, demanding complex, expensive, and risky code rewrites to decouple applications from old IDPs before any meaningful cloud migration, modernization effort, or merger integration can occur. Strata's flagship offering, the Maverics Identity Orchestration Platform, introduces a revolutionary Identity Fabric that fundamentally decouples the application layer from the authentication layer. This platform acts as a neutral, vendor-agnostic control plane, unifying access across all existing identity infrastructure, whether it resides in the data center or across various cloud platforms. Maverics is built on the core principle of Abstracted Identity, allowing organizations to maintain diverse, parallel IDPs and enforce consistent Zero Trust policies through a single, intelligent orchestration layer. This means that applications, even those decades-old and deeply embedded in business processes, can immediately support modern authentication standards, single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) without requiring a single line of app code to be modified. This capability transforms identity management from a crippling operational constraint into a flexible, strategic asset, ready for the next era of enterprise computing. The true strategic value of Strata’s orchestration platform is realized across several critical enterprise use cases, delivering massive returns on investment and immediate operational resilience. The most common immediate use is Identity Modernization and Cloud Migration. By implementing the Maverics Identity Fabric, organizations can seamlessly lift and shift applications to the cloud, enabling them to retire expensive, end-of-life legacy identity systems like SiteMinder or Oracle Access Manager without the multi-year, multi-million-dollar re-platforming effort. The platform handles all runtime identity processes—from translating authentication tokens to enforcing global access policies—all transparently to the application and the user. A second equally critical use case is Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), where integrating disparate IT environments often takes years to unify identities and access policies. Strata drastically accelerates this process, enabling newly acquired company employees to plug their existing identity infrastructure directly into the parent company’s SSO and policy framework literally overnight, realizing synergy faster and significantly reducing integration risk. Furthermore, Strata delivers critical Identity Resilience by enabling automated failover. If a primary IDP experiences an unforeseen outage, the Maverics Identity Fabric instantly switches authentication traffic to a secondary, pre-configured IDP, ensuring continuous user access and business continuity, a vital feature for meeting strict service level agreements. Most recently, Strata has pioneered Agentic Identity, extending robust Zero Trust controls to autonomous AI agents that access enterprise resources and APIs, providing the essential auditability and governance required for the emerging AI-powered enterprise. By unifying human, machine, and agent identities under one control plane, Strata ensures every interaction, regardless of its source, is secure, authorized, and observable. Strata Identity provides more than just access management; it fundamentally future-proofs the enterprise by permanently breaking the painful and costly connection between applications and their underlying identity systems. The Maverics Identity Orchestration Platform offers the essential flexibility and control that modern organizations require to navigate relentless technological change, from managing hybrid cloud complexity and IDP consolidation to addressing the immediate, novel security challenges posed by generative AI. It eliminates IDP vendor lock-in, drastically cuts the cost and time required for major migrations and M&A integrations, and hardens the security posture with built-in resilience and policy-driven delegated authorization. Strata offers a unified control plane that simplifies complexity, dramatically reduces operational risk, and empowers IT and security leaders to accelerate their most critical strategic initiatives without the crippling constraint of identity debt. Choosing Strata is choosing control, agility, and a proven, non-disruptive path to a truly modern, consolidated identity architecture where security, compliance, and a seamless user experience coexist. The platform is not merely a tool for today's fragmented systems; it is the necessary foundation for managing all forms of identity—human, machine, and agent—in the complex, interconnected enterprise of tomorrow, delivering unparalleled value and freedom from identity fragmentation.

Traditional IAM solutions (like an IDP, SSO product, or access manager) are monolithic or use tightly coupled integration models. They centralize identity management but often require applications to be rewritten, re-platformed, or heavily configured to communicate using the IDP's specific protocols (e.g., updating an old app to speak SAML or OIDC). This approach creates crippling identity vendor lock-in and massive technical debt during cloud migrations, forcing expensive, multi-year "rip and replace" projects just to modernize applications tied to legacy systems like SiteMinder or Oracle Access Manager. In contrast, Strata introduces an Identity Fabric—a vendor-agnostic, low-code/no-code abstraction layer that acts as a neutral control plane positioned between the application and all identity providers (IDPs). This architecture allows Strata to achieve Abstracted Identity, meaning applications are permanently decoupled from the authentication source. Maverics handles the entire identity runtime process—translating old, proprietary identity signals (like headers or cookies from a legacy app) into modern standards (like OIDC for a cloud IDP) and back again—all transparently to the application and the end-user. This unique capability enables organizations to achieve massive strategic goals, such as migrating decades-old, mission-critical applications to the cloud and retiring legacy IDPs, without modifying a single line of application code. Furthermore, its orchestration layer is designed for distributed environments, providing critical Identity Resilience through automated failover and extending security governance, known as Agentic Identity, to autonomous AI workflows—a capability entirely beyond the scope of traditional, human-centric IAM products. Strata transforms identity management from a crippling constraint into an agile, strategic asset that simplifies complexity and eliminates vendor lock-in.
