Paid users can create custom transaction categories for assets, liabilities, equity, income, and expenses, allowing you to tailor your chart of accounts to your unique business structure and reporting needs.
You can assign these categories to specific sections, ensuring accurate and personalized financial tracking.
Default categories cannot be edited or removed, but custom categories can be added or deleted as needed.
This feature is only available to paid subscribers; free users have limited customization options.
Portfolio and Property Management:
Rentastic supports managing multiple properties (residential and some commercial), and you can classify transactions at the property or entire portfolio level for more granular reporting and analysis.
The platform allows for customizable payment structures to accommodate different tenant or lease requirements, which is particularly useful for commercial property management.
Reporting and Analytics
Rentastic provides automated reports (such as P&L statements and cash flow analyses) but does not currently support user-built custom reports. However, users can request this feature, and Rentastic actively considers and implements user feedback for future updates.
Some user reviews note the ability to request or obtain specialized reports and adjust certain features to better match business requirements.

The dashboard and transaction management tools are designed to be intuitive, with features like customizable fields and easy categorization to fit different workflows.
You can connect multiple bank accounts for automated and customizable transaction syncing.

This integration allows Rentastic to access only copies of your bank transactions for tracking purposes. Importantly, Rentastic never can move, withdraw, or transfer funds between accounts, even if an account is compromised.
No Direct Access to Funds: Rentastic is designed so that it cannot physically touch or move your money. The system is strictly read-only when it comes to bank data, further minimizing risk.
Privacy Policy and Data Protection: Rentastic maintains a comprehensive privacy policy that outlines its commitment to data privacy and security. By using the platform, users agree to these privacy and security standards.
Rentastic regularly releases updates to improve functionality, add features, and address user feedback. For example, a notable update—Rentastic v1.1.1—was released on April 2, 2025, indicating active and ongoing development of the platform. Updates are announced through their official blog, where new features and enhancements are detailed for users.
The update process is managed seamlessly for users: since Rentastic is a cloud-based platform accessible via web and mobile apps, updates are deployed automatically. Users do not need to manually download or install updates; improvements and new features become available as soon as they are released.
Rentastic’s policy on data ownership and portability includes the following key points:
Data Ownership:
Users retain ownership of their personal and financial data provided to Rentastic. The platform’s privacy policy emphasizes that users have the right to review, change, or terminate their accounts at any time, and Rentastic will deactivate or delete user accounts and information from active databases upon request.
Some information may be retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting, but the user’s rights to their data are clearly stated.
Data Portability:
Paid users can export all of their transaction data and classifications through the “Bulk Transaction Export” feature. This allows users to generate reports for any date range and export their data in Excel or CSV format, making it easy to transfer financial records for analysis, tax reporting, or migration to another system.
This export functionality is available in the Reports section of the platform and is designed to be user-friendly, requiring only a few clicks to complete the process.
Account Termination and Data Deletion:
Rentastic offers flexible, contract-free terms that make it easy for organizations to scale up or down as their needs change:
