Prescrip is a mobile-first clinical practice management tool launched in 2014, designed to empower individual doctors and small clinics in India to go truly digital. The platform enables appointment scheduling, video consultations (via WhatsApp), e‑prescriptions, patient record management, automated reminders, and simple analytics—accessible on Android, iOS, desktop, or tablet, all within a secure, intuitive interface

• Founded in 2014 in Mumbai by Shekhar Rawtani together with Tanay Surkund (and Rahul Dhingra), initially built as an iPad-based prescription app, later expanding to a multi-device platform.

   

• Operates on a freemium model, scaling rapidly—according to reports, it saw 11× growth in doctor registrations in 2020, with over 7,000 registered doctors across 477 Indian cities by late 2021, and a stated goal of onboarding 300,000 doctors by 2023.

• E‑prescribing & digital templates: Quickly generate legible prescriptions, customize appearance, auto-fill generics, and share via SMS, WhatsApp, email, or print—with patient instructions and care notes included

   

• Digital clinic & video consultation: Doctors receive a personalized clinic link, patients can book appointments easily, pay online, and attend video consultations (via WhatsApp) without installing new apps.

   

• Patient record management & history: Maintains longitudinal patient profiles including notes, prescriptions, and images; quickly accessible for treatment planning and follow-up.

   

• Favorites & smart shortcuts: Frequently prescribed drugs, common complaints, and templates can be saved for rapid reuse.

   

• Automated reminders & notifications: Sends medicine/follow-up reminders via SMS to improve adherence; additional appointment reminders support practice management.
