Link4 is a specialized financial technology company headquartered in Adelaide, Australia, operating out of the prestigious Lot Fourteen innovation hub. Since its founding in 2016, the company has established itself as a global leader in the e-invoicing and procure-to-pay (P2P) space. Link4’s primary mission is to automate the business-to-business (B2B) document exchange process, moving away from outdated manual methods toward a secure, instantaneous digital ecosystem. The company serves a diverse client base of over 10,000 organizations, ranging from small local cafes to major government departments and multinational corporations. Link4 is an accredited Peppol Access Point provider in several major jurisdictions, including Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, and has recently expanded its physical presence to the United Arab Emirates to lead the regional shift toward digital tax compliance. Its strategic vision combines high-level technical integration with a simplified user experience, making enterprise-grade automation accessible to businesses of all sizes.

Link4 was co-founded in 2016 by CEO Robin Sands and CTO Sam Hassan. The founding story began when the pair recognized the significant inefficiencies plaguing small business owners—specifically the time-consuming and error-prone nature of manual invoice processing. Initially, the founders explored a dashboard solution for the hospitality industry but pivoted toward e-invoicing after intensive research revealed that 'data entry' was the universal pain point for accountants and business owners alike. Hassan, an Egyptian-born software developer, brought a deep technical background and a passion for community-driven innovation to the project. The company gained early momentum through the SouthStart Accelerate program and quickly established its headquarters in Adelaide, committed to creating local job opportunities in the emerging fintech sector. Over the past eight years, the founders' original vision has scaled from a local startup to an award-winning international provider, recognized with accolades such as the Australian Fintech Business Start-Up Award and the APAC Insider Global eInvoicing Innovator title.

Link4's growth has been fueled by a combination of early-stage venture support, strategic acquisitions, and government backing. In 2016, the company was selected for the 'SouthStart Accelerate' program, which provided access to a network of 30 industry leaders and initial seed-level mentoring and investment. Link4 has been a notable recipient of several government grants, most recently an export grant from the Government of South Australia to support its expansion into the North American market, which the company projected would drive significant revenue growth. While Link4 operates as a private company and does not publicly disclose every VC round, its financial strength was demonstrated in March 2026 when it successfully acquired 100% of the shares of Unifiedpost Pte Ltd from the Banqup Group. This acquisition allowed Link4 to consolidate its market share in the Singaporean InvoiceNow network and absorb a significant customer base, further accelerating its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth and solidifying its position as a dominant regional player.

Link4 offers a multi-layered product suite centered around e-invoicing efficiency. The flagship 'Link4 e-Invoicing' service provides seamless, direct integration for cloud accounting users (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Sage, Reckon, etc.), enabling the automatic delivery of invoices as draft bills. For businesses still utilizing desktop accounting software or those without a dedicated system, 'Link4 InvoiceExpress' serves as a standalone portal to send and track e-invoices. For large enterprises, Link4 provides custom ERP connectors for systems like SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and Microsoft Dynamics, facilitating high-volume, secure document flow. In 2026, the company expanded its offerings to include 'Link4 AI-Powered AP Automation' via a partnership with Docupath, allowing for the intelligent processing of diverse document types. Additionally, 'Link4 Payments' integrates financial settlement directly into the invoicing workflow, providing a comprehensive procure-to-pay solution that covers everything from invoice receipt to final payment.

Link4's expansion strategy has been characterized by a focused entry into markets with strong government e-invoicing mandates. After establishing a dominant position in the Australian and New Zealand markets (working closely with the ATO and MBIE), Link4 expanded into Singapore, becoming one of the first accredited providers for the IMDA's InvoiceNow network. In 2022, the company launched its services in the United Kingdom and the United States, targeting the burgeoning North American fintech market. Most significantly, in February 2026, Link4 established a physical presence in the United Arab Emirates with a new office in Dubai. Led by CTO Sam Hassan, who relocated to the region, this move was designed to support Middle Eastern enterprises ahead of the UAE Federal Tax Authority's 2026 digital invoicing rollout. The company has also expanded its sales leadership into Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines, reflecting a robust strategy to lead the digital trade infrastructure across the entire Asia-Pacific and GCC regions.

Recent months have seen Link4 significantly enhance its platform with advanced automation and AI capabilities. In early 2026, Link4 launched its AI-Powered Accounts Payable (AP) Automation in partnership with Docupath, which uses adaptive machine learning to extract and validate data with 99.5% accuracy from any source format, including legacy PDFs. Another major addition is the 'Invoice Status Dashboard,' which provides real-time visibility into whether a trading partner has opened, accepted, or scheduled a payment for an invoice—a feature that drastically reduces the need for follow-up emails. Link4 also introduced 'Agentic Extraction' and enhanced 3-way matching (invoice vs. PO vs. receipt) for its ERP users, allowing for virtually autonomous exception resolution. Following the acquisition of Unifiedpost Pte Ltd, Link4 integrated advanced 'Order Response' and 'Order Change' management features, moving beyond simple invoicing to provide a full suite of procurement document exchange tools within the Peppol framework.

Link4’s culture is built on a foundation of 'compassion, curiosity, and courage,' emphasizing a global workspace where diverse skills converge to solve complex financial challenges. The company places a high value on innovation and 'entrepreneurial spirit,' encouraging employees to find creative solutions rather than simply completing busy work. Despite its global footprint, Link4 remains deeply connected to its roots in Adelaide, Australia, actively participating in cultural events and supporting local fintech job seekers. The leadership team, particularly Sam Hassan, is known for fostering an inclusive environment, frequently engaging with community initiatives like the Egyptian community in South Australia. The company offers a 'mellow yet professional' work environment with a strong focus on work-life balance (rated 4.5/5 by employees). This culture of collaboration and 'putting people first' is credited as a primary driver for the company’s ability to sustain 350%+ export revenue growth over consecutive years.

Link4 actively fosters a community of digital transformation advocates through regular webinars, user groups, and international industry events. The company is a key participant in the Peppol community, contributing to the development of global e-invoicing standards. In the Middle East, Link4 has launched the 'UAE eInvoicing Forum,' bringing together finance and technology leaders to discuss regulatory readiness and best practices for the 2026 mandates. Through its partnership program for accountants and bookkeepers, Link4 has built a network of professional advisors (including major firms like BDO) who help drive e-invoicing adoption among their own client bases. Furthermore, Link4 maintains a strong online presence via its resource center, which provides extensive documentation, training videos, and 'What is e-Invoicing' guides to educate the broader business community on the benefits of digital trade. Its recognition in major competitions like the Telstra Business Awards and the Australian AI Awards further cements its status as a thought leader in the fintech ecosystem.
