SFTPPlus
بواسطة Pro:Atria Ltd
Pro:Atria Ltd, based in Yeovil, Somerset, UK, is a privately held software company founded in 2001. Initially, it provided enterprise IT consultancy and distributed secure software products across platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Unix variants. Its core offering is SFTPPlus, a fully-managed secure file transfer suite designed to automate and audit data exchange while maintaining compliance and cross-platform integrity.
Founded on May 10, 2001, Pro:Atria began as a consultancy offering third-party enterprise solutions. In 2005, the company introduced the SFTPPlus Client, targeting automation of SFTP/FTP/FTPS transfers. By 2006, the platform expanded to include server capabilities, evolving into a comprehensive Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution. The 2015 release consolidated both client and server functionalities, positioning SFTPPlus as its primary product focus. Its origins are rooted in client-led scenarios, such as deployment for a major UK insurance firm—which remains a client today.
Pro:Atria remains 100% self-funded, backed by organic growth without external venture capital. Employing fewer than 10 to 50 staff, the company is classified as unfunded in platforms like Tracxn and Crunchbase. Serving around 100 enterprise clients with a support renewal rate near 99%, its valuation is privately held and likely in the low-to-mid-single-digit millions, reflecting consistent organic progress.
SFTPPlus is a robust MFT solution offering both server and client components:
Pro:Atria has no record of acquisitions or mergers. Instead, product evolution has been wholly organic, with features driven by direct customer feedback. The platform has progressively expanded protocol coverage and cloud support (e.g., Azure, AWS, containerization) since its inception.
Recent updates include the release of SFTPPlus v5.17.0 (11 Sep 2025), featuring enhanced SharePoint Online performance and archiving options, along with improvements to the HTTP API. The prior patch v5.16.1 delivered quality and stability fixes. Ongoing releases focus on cloud support, container orchestration, and automation capabilities.
Pro:Atria's culture centers on technical quality, customer collaboration, and efficient delivery. They maintain a small, stable team, including founder Tim Adams and long-tenured staff like Alison Bennett. Their brand of friendly, developer-first customer care includes free initial consultancy, direct access to development teams, and rigorous regression testing of over 32,000 automated tests per release.
Serving 100+ customers—including enterprises, government bodies, healthcare providers, and insurers—SFTPPlus enjoys a ~99% renewal rate. User reviews, while limited in number, highlight strengths in compliance, reliability, API capabilities, and seamless integration with existing systems. The team engages with its user community through support channels, public documentation, and GitHub repositories that facilitate deployment in containerized environments.
