ECP

ECP (Extended Care Professional) is a U.S.-based, cloud software company that provides an all‑in‑one platform for senior living, assisted living, long‑term care, and IDD communities, covering eMAR, EHR, CRM, Move‑Ins, and Billing. The platform is used by more than 7,500–8,000 communities nationwide and is positioned as a senior‑living‑first operating system that improves care quality, compliance, and business performance.

ECP delivers a complete web‑based suite for assisted living and long‑term care, unifying clinical, operational, marketing, and financial workflows in a single SaaS platform. Its mission is to “build world‑class software” that increases quality of life for residents while improving clinical, business, compliance, and operational outcomes for providers, with a strong emphasis on ease of use and device accessibility.

ECP was founded in 2004 in East Troy, Wisconsin, by Len Hotz, originally as a cloud‑based eMAR and care management system tightly integrated with long‑term care pharmacies. From an initial focus on medication administration and assessments, the company has grown over nearly two decades into one of the most widely used senior living platforms in the U.S., now serving communities in all 50 states and employing a few hundred staff.

ECP operates as a privately held SaaS company with revenue estimated at under 5 million USD in earlier public business databases, growing alongside a rapidly expanding customer base. In 2023, SG Credit Partners announced a growth capital facility for Extended Care Professional to support product and market expansion, confirming that ECP has attracted institutional financing, although specific valuation figures and deal sizes have not been publicly disclosed.

The platform centers on four core solutions—eMAR, EHR, CRM/Move‑Ins, and Billing—augmented by reporting, compliance, and integration tools. Key capabilities include pharmacy‑integrated eMAR, point‑of‑care charting, customizable assessments and care plans, occupancy and lead tracking, automated invoicing for rent and level‑of‑care charges, and state‑specific reporting, all designed around a “three clicks or less” usability philosophy for frontline staff.

Recent development has focused on connectivity and intelligence, including the launch of the Senior Living Integration Hub and Developer Portal, which centralises more than 50 prebuilt integrations and exposes APIs, webhooks, and technical resources for partners and operators. ECP has also introduced new billing automation, advanced reporting/compliance tools, and ongoing user‑experience refinements, as well as AI‑driven medication‑safety capabilities in its eMAR to flag high‑risk scenarios and improve med management at scale.

ECP’s stated mission emphasizes resident quality of life and making residents, families, and staff “happy” by combining strong software with a close partnership with operators. The company stresses ease of use, rapid onboarding (including ECP University training resources), and responsiveness to customer feedback, and positions itself as a long‑term technology partner to senior living organizations rather than a generic EHR vendor.

ECP serves over 7,500–8,000 senior living, assisted living, group home, and other long‑term care communities across the United States, from small single‑site operators to large multi‑state portfolios such as Stellar Senior Living, Cedarhurst Senior Living, Senior Solutions Management Group, SAL Management Group, and Discovery Senior Living. The company supports this community with case studies, webinars, training content, and integration partnerships, creating an ecosystem where best practices, pharmacy relationships, and technology partners revolve around the ECP platform.
