Cutout.pro is an AI-powered platform designed to democratize professional-grade photo and video editing. It leverages deep learning and computer vision to automate tedious tasks like masking, retouching, and upscaling. The platform is accessible via web browsers, desktop applications, mobile apps, and a robust API, making it a favorite for both individual creators and large-scale e-commerce enterprises.

• The Launch: Cutout.pro was founded in 2018 under the parent company Libit AI. The founders aimed to solve the "masking problem"—the hours spent by designers manually cutting out subjects from backgrounds.

• Market Expansion: The company saw explosive growth between 2021 and 2024 as the global e-commerce market surged. By providing "one-click" solutions for product photography, the platform quickly scaled its user base across North America, Europe, and Asia.

• Technical Evolution: Initially focused on simple background removal, the company expanded its research into generative AI, image restoration, and video processing, allowing it to compete with heavyweights like Adobe and Canva in specific automated workflows.

• Venture Support: Cutout.pro is primarily backed by private equity and venture capital firms focusing on SaaS and AI infrastructure.

• Financial Health: While specific valuation figures are often kept private by Libit AI, industry analysts in 2026 estimate the company’s valuation in the $100M – $200M range.

• Revenue Model: The company utilizes a "Freemium" model driven by a credit-based system. Most of its revenue comes from high-volume API subscriptions used by e-commerce platforms and print-on-demand services.

The platform is divided into several specialized "engines":

• AI Removal Tools: One-click background removal for photos and videos, as well as an "Object Remover" (Inpainting) to delete unwanted elements from images.

• AI Restoration: Includes the "Image Enhancer" and "Sharpener," which use super-resolution technology to fix blurry or low-quality photos.

• E-commerce Solutions: Tools specifically designed to generate professional product listings, including auto-shadows and standardized white backgrounds.

• ID Photo Maker: A specialized utility that automatically crops photos to official passport or visa specifications for various countries.

• Cartoon Selfie: A popular consumer feature that transforms portraits into various artistic and 3D cartoon styles using generative adversarial networks (GANs).

• Strategic Integrations: Rather than aggressive company acquisitions, Cutout.pro has focused on Plugin Expansion. It has built deep integrations for Shopify, WooCommerce, and Adobe Photoshop, effectively "acquiring" space within the professional designer's existing workflow.

• API Ecosystem: A significant portion of the company’s growth has come from its API, which is now integrated into hundreds of third-party apps for automated photo printing and marketing.

• Video Background Diffusion: A high-end feature that doesn't just remove a video background but uses generative AI to "outpaint" and create entirely new, realistic environments behind a moving subject.

• AI Headshot Generator: A professional tool that turns casual smartphone photos into corporate-grade LinkedIn headshots with realistic lighting and attire.

• Batch Video Upscaling: New server-side processing capabilities that allow users to upscale entire video libraries from 720p to 4K using AI interpolation.

• Animate Still Portraits: A "Live Portrait" feature that adds subtle, realistic movements (blinking, smiling) to static photos.

• Efficiency First: The core philosophy is "Time is the ultimate currency." Every feature is designed to reduce a 30-minute manual task to a 3-second automated one.

• Accessibility: The team prioritizes a UI/UX that requires zero learning curve, ensuring that a small business owner has the same editing power as a professional retoucher.

• Data Privacy: Given the high volume of personal photos processed, the company emphasizes secure, encrypted processing and a policy of not using user-uploaded data for public model training without consent.

• E-commerce Entrepreneurs: Its largest segment, using the tool to maintain consistent product aesthetics across platforms like Amazon and eBay.

• Photography Professionals: High-volume event and school photographers who use the batch processing features for rapid turnaround.

• The Global Consumer: Millions of users who utilize the free web tools for social media content, passport photos, and fun artistic filters.

• Developer Community: A growing base of developers who utilize the Cutout.pro API to power the visual editing features of their own applications.
