TruOps
بواسطة SDG Corporation
SDG Corporation, the developer of TruOps, is a global leader in IT risk, identity, and security consultancy with a history stretching back over 30 years. Established in 1993, the company has grown from a specialized system integrator into a full-scale technology provider with over 700 employees worldwide. Headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, SDG serves a blue-chip client base, including Fortune 10 and Fortune 500 companies in the financial services, manufacturing, and retail sectors. The TruOps platform represents the culmination of SDG's extensive experience in the field, designed to address the inefficiencies of legacy GRC tools that are often too rigid and difficult to deploy. As part of the broader SDG Group, which recently expanded further into Europe and the Middle East, TruOps benefits from a massive global support infrastructure and a continuous pipeline of innovation in AI and data science.
The founding of TruOps is deeply rooted in the vision of Ajay Gupta, the founder and Executive Chairman of SDG Corporation. Gupta established SDG in 1993 with the mission to help complex organizations navigate the burgeoning risks of the digital age. By the early 2010s, after decades of helping clients implement third-party GRC tools, the leadership team at SDG recognized a persistent market gap: most GRC solutions were too cumbersome for mid-market firms and lacked the multi-tenancy required for the emerging MSP market. In June 2012, TruOps officially debuted its 'GRC Hub' at the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit. The goal was to provide a 'Simple by Design' framework that could be implemented in weeks rather than months. Since then, the platform has evolved under the leadership of CEO Jeff Tso, a two-time startup founder in the AI space, and COO Mohit Lal, ensuring that it stays ahead of both technological shifts and regulatory changes.
Unlike many standalone SaaS startups, TruOps operates with the robust financial backing of its parent company, SDG Corporation, which has maintained steady growth for over three decades. While TruOps functions as a distinct product unit, it leverages SDG's capital for research and development. In a broader corporate context, SDG Group has recently seen significant investment and growth as part of its global expansion strategy, which includes becoming a part of the Alten Group ecosystem in certain European markets like the Netherlands. This strategic positioning provides TruOps with a level of financial stability and resource depth that far exceeds that of venture-backed competitors, allowing for long-term R&D projects like the development of the Clark AI module without the pressure of short-term venture capital exit timelines.
TruOps offers a modular GRC suite that can be deployed individually or as an integrated 'all-in-one' platform. The core offerings include Compliance Management, which supports 500+ OOTB frameworks; Risk Management for automated scoring and heat-mapping; and Third-Party Risk Management for vendor oversight. Specializing in 'Risk-Based Vulnerability Management,' the platform consolidates findings from various scanners to give a unified view of security posture. Additionally, TruOps provides specific modules for Policy Management, Issue & Exception Tracking, and Continuous Controls Monitoring. A standout offering is their Multi-Tenant console, specifically designed for MSSPs and Private Equity firms to manage diverse client portfolios. In 2024, they added 'Clark,' a Generative AI assistant that acts as a conversational layer across all modules, providing instant insights and report generation.
TruOps and its parent company, SDG, have pursued an aggressive global expansion strategy to meet the rising demand for sophisticated GRC solutions. Beyond its US headquarters, the company has established a major technology center in India and a regional headquarters in Canada. Most notably, the firm has seen massive growth in the Middle East, operating in the region since 2010. Recently, in 2025, SDG Group opened two new operational centers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi, UAE, complementing its existing presence in Dubai and Cairo. This expansion is part of a plan to hire 200 new professionals in the GCC region alone. The company also maintains a strong presence across Europe, including offices in Italy, Spain, the UK, and Portugal, ensuring that TruOps can support global organizations with local expertise and 24/7 follow-the-sun support.
In the last 18 months, TruOps has introduced several industry-leading features, most notably 'Clark,' their proprietary Generative AI conversational assistant launched in February 2024. Clark allows users to interact with their GRC data using natural language, significantly reducing the learning curve for new users. Other recent enhancements include an upgraded 'Integration Hub' that now supports over 30 out-of-the-box connectors for tools like Jira, ServiceNow, AWS, and Azure, enabling seamless bidirectional data flow. The platform also introduced 'Continuous Controls Monitoring' (CCM), which automates the testing of controls in real-time. This move from periodic assessments to continuous validation is a major step forward for organizations aiming for 'Compliance-as-a-Service.' Improvements to the multi-tenant console have also been rolled out, providing enhanced templatization and cross-tenant analytics for service providers.
The culture at TruOps and SDG Corporation is defined by the mantra 'Small enough to care, but big enough to deliver.' This philosophy blends the personalized, high-touch service of a boutique firm with the technological muscle of a global leader. The company prioritizes expertise, with a team composed of former auditors, certified security professionals, and GRC experts who take a partnership-oriented approach to every client engagement. There is a strong emphasis on customer success, evidenced by their high NPS score and an average client lifetime of over four years. The work environment encourages innovation, particularly in the intersection of AI and risk management, while maintaining a commitment to transparency and integrity. DEI initiatives and a global mindset are central to their operations, reflecting their diverse footprint across multiple continents and cultures.
TruOps fosters a vibrant community of GRC practitioners, auditors, and security leaders through a variety of engagement initiatives. They maintain a comprehensive 'Security Daily' blog that provides critical advisories, compliance updates, and thought leadership pieces. The company is an active participant and sponsor in major industry events like the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit and the MSP Expo, where they share insights on the future of GRC. They also offer a Partner Ecosystem for technology providers and consultants, facilitating a network of certified specialists who can help clients maximize the platform's value. While they don't host a traditional public forum, they prioritize a 'Partner Voice' program where user feedback directly influences the product roadmap, ensuring the community has a tangible impact on the platform's evolution.
