Trellix MOVE AntiVirus
بواسطة Musarubra US LLC
Trellix is a global cybersecurity powerhouse formed in early 2022 through the high-profile merger of McAfee Enterprise and FireEye. Owned by Symphony Technology Group (STG), Trellix positions itself as a leader in the Extended Detection and Response (XDR) market. The company serves over 40,000 customers, including 80% of the Fortune 100, and maintains a workforce of approximately 5,000 security professionals. Trellix's mission is to provide 'Living Security'—technology that learns, adapts, and evolves to counter the most sophisticated cyber threats. By combining McAfee’s vast endpoint protection expertise with FireEye’s advanced threat intelligence and network security capabilities, Trellix offers one of the most comprehensive security portfolios in the industry, spanning endpoint, network, data, and cloud security operations.
The foundation of Trellix began in March 2021 when Symphony Technology Group (STG) announced the acquisition of McAfee’s Enterprise business for $4 billion. This was followed in June 2021 by STG's $1.2 billion acquisition of FireEye’s products business. In January 2022, STG officially launched Trellix as the brand for the combined entity. Bryan Palma, the former Executive Vice President of FireEye's products business, was appointed as the inaugural CEO, bringing a vision to unify the two legacy giants into a modern XDR-focused organization. The merger was strategically designed to separate the enterprise-focused security tools from consumer products (retained by McAfee) and security services (retained by Mandiant), creating a pure-play software and hardware security leader. In early 2025, Vishal Rao took over as CEO to lead the next phase of growth.
As a privately held company under Symphony Technology Group (STG), Trellix’s financial backing is significant. The initial capital outlay by STG to form the company exceeded $5.2 billion across the two core acquisitions. While the company does not participate in traditional venture capital rounds, it operates with a revenue base of nearly $2 billion annually. STG’s investment strategy focuses on long-term value creation, providing Trellix with the resources needed for R&D in AI and machine learning. In addition to the primary acquisitions, Trellix benefits from the historical R&D investments made by Intel and TPG during their periods of ownership of McAfee, totaling billions in intellectual property and global infrastructure that Trellix now leverages.
Trellix provides a modular and interoperable platform focused on XDR. Its flagship offerings include the Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) suite, Trellix Network Security, and the Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO)—the industry's most widely used centralized security management console. For virtual environments, the MOVE AntiVirus line is a cornerstone of their data center security portfolio. Other key products include Trellix Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Trellix Email Security, and Trellix Helix, a cloud-native security operations platform. These offerings are designed to work together, sharing telemetry and automated responses via the Trellix Data Exchange Layer (DXL), allowing customers to build a 'Living Security' ecosystem that spans from the device to the cloud.
Trellix has a massive global footprint with offices across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Recently, the company has heavily expanded its presence in the Middle East, specifically in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to align with regional digital transformation initiatives like Saudi Vision 2030. In 2023, Trellix appointed Khaled Alateeq as Head of Middle East to spearhead regional growth and local talent development. The company has invested in local data residency options and supports regional compliance standards such as the Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) controls. Furthermore, Trellix continues to expand its partner ecosystem, which includes over 2,000 resellers and service providers globally, ensuring local support in virtually every market.
Recent innovation at Trellix has focused on 'Trellix Wise'—a Generative AI-powered hyperautomation engine launched in 2023-2024. Wise helps security analysts automate investigation tasks and threat hunting using conversational AI. For MOVE AntiVirus, recent updates include enhanced 'SVM Autoscaling' for Multi-platform deployments, allowing for better resource management in dynamic cloud environments. Trellix also introduced deeper integration with Amazon Bedrock to enhance its AI models' detection capabilities. Other notable additions include improved SHA-256 support for Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE) and expanded support for newer versions of Windows Server (2022) and various Linux distributions in virtualized environments.
Trellix promotes a culture centered on 'Soulful Work,' emphasizing that cybersecurity is a purpose-driven profession dedicated to protecting society's critical infrastructure and people. The company is a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), with several Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) known as 'Trellix VOICE'—including groups for women, pride, black, hispanic, and veteran employees. Trellix actively works to bridge the industry's talent gap through partnerships with organizations like Gotara and the National Cybersecurity Alliance. The work environment is built on a hybrid model, encouraging collaboration while supporting work-life balance and continuous learning through internal programs and the Trellix Thrive portal.
Trellix maintains a vibrant user community anchored by its annual 'Xpand' (formerly MPOWER) global conferences, where customers, partners, and threat researchers gather to share best practices and roadmap insights. The Trellix Advanced Research Center (ARC) provides the community with real-time threat intelligence reports and research on emerging malware campaigns. Online, the Trellix Thrive portal serves as a hub for users to access knowledge base articles, technical forums, and the Trellix Developer Portal for API documentation. The company also sponsors initiatives like 'No More Ransom,' a global public-private partnership that has helped millions of users recover from ransomware attacks without paying criminals.
