Perplexity Comet
بواسطة Perplexity AI, Inc
The typical implementation process for Perplexity Comet is rapid and user-friendly, often completed within a few minutes. Here is the usual sequence:
Download the Browser: Visit the Perplexity Comet website and click the download button; the installer is lightweight and quickly retrieved.
Install Application: Run the installer and follow standard prompts (drag-and-drop for Mac, “Next” clicks for Windows); installation completes in seconds.
Initial Setup and Personalization: Upon launch, users can import bookmarks, extensions, passwords, and browsing history from their previous browser for a seamless transition.
Account and Profile Configuration: Create or connect a Perplexity account, setting preferences, username, and avatar for personalization; this step can be skipped or done later.
Set Default Browser and Privacy Preferences: Optionally set Comet as your default browser and adjust privacy settings as desired.
Perplexity Comet can be customized for business needs across security, admin control, workflow automation, and integrations. It supports enterprise controls, configurable data policies, custom connectors via MCP, and adapts its agentic assistant to role-specific workflows across apps and sites.
Admin console with audit logs for org-wide visibility on usage and actions (available for deployments with 50+ seats).
Configurable data retention windows (e.g., up to 1 day) with “no training on your data” guarantees for Enterprise, preserving confidentiality.
Local-first storage for browsing history, queries, and AI interactions with end-to-end encryption, minimizing exposure by default.
Enterprise-ready from day one with SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and HIPAA support for regulated workloads and data-handling requirements.
Explicit, purpose-limited access when personalized assistance is invoked; competitive research and private communications remain protected.
Agentic automation can be tailored to tasks like email triage, calendar scheduling, CRM updates, research briefs, and reservations—executed directly in the browser UI without switching apps.
Context-aware operations using @tab to anchor answers to specific open tabs, ensuring outputs are tied to in-scope documents and sites.
Background assistant that clicks, types, submits, and autofills forms on behalf of users for complex multi-step processes across web apps.
Works across most enterprise web apps out of the box; can monitor Slack, act in CRMs, and operate across productivity suites surfaced in the browser.
Support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) to build custom connectors and local MCPs, enabling bespoke data sources, file access, and app control from within Comet.
Emerging ecosystem of third-party MCPs and dev tooling to integrate Figma, Opik, and internal systems; enables organization-specific workflows and context injection.
Learns individual work patterns to organize tabs, persist context across sessions, and prioritize tasks aligned to role responsibilities (analyst, marketer, CX lead, etc.).
Perplexity Comet offers guided onboarding, a dedicated Help Center, quick-start resources, community access, and tiered support options, making it easy for new users to get productive quickly. Training spans self-serve articles, tutorials, and example-driven guides, while support ranges from email assistance to enterprise SLAs for larger deployments.
Perplexity Comet protects data with layered, defense‑in‑depth controls spanning local storage choices, privacy gating, AI‑safety guardrails, and human‑in‑the‑loop confirmations, while acknowledging no system is perfectly secure. Core controls include private‑by‑default options, classifier‑based prompt‑injection defenses, and explicit user approval for sensitive actions like sending emails or placing orders.
Perplexity Comet ships updates on a rapid, continuous cadence with weekly “What We Shipped” posts, plus behind‑the‑scenes hotfixes and security patches; desktop builds auto‑update silently and notify users for major changes. Releases are coordinated through a public changelog, phased rollouts, and cryptographically signed packages to ensure integrity and safe fallback if an update fails.
Perplexity Comet uses a privacy‑first model where users retain control over their browsing data and can manage, delete, or limit what is stored or shared, while enterprises keep ownership of their Customer Content (inputs and outputs) with explicit assurances that it is not used for model training. Comet provides options to delete local browsing data, control history usage, and use Incognito to avoid storing activity, aligning with data minimization and user‑choice principles for ownership and portability needs.
Perplexity Comet uses subscription terms that auto‑renew by default, with clear cancellation flows, limited refund windows, and specific enterprise rights around suspension and termination. Key renewal, cancellation, and refund provisions are below, including consumer and enterprise terms.
Subscriptions auto‑renew at the stated billing frequency (monthly by default if unspecified) at the current rates; the payment method is charged at the start of each new period unless canceled before the renewal date.
Promotions (e.g., PayPal/Venmo offers) convert to paid auto‑renewing plans after the complimentary term unless canceled before renewal.
You can cancel anytime in Account Settings under Manage Subscription; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, reverting the account to the free plan.
iOS and Android purchases must be canceled via Apple or Google subscription settings, respectively; deleting an account does not cancel the subscription, and charges will continue if not canceled separately.
You retain access to paid features until the period ends after cancellation; you may reactivate later from the same Manage Subscription page.
General ToS state subscriptions are non‑refundable except where expressly allowed; however, Help Center polices provide windows:
EU/UK/Turkey: 14‑day refund window from purchase for monthly and annual plans.
Other regions: Monthly plans are refundable within 24 hours; annual plans are refundable within 72 hours of purchase.
Refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases must be requested through Apple or via email for Android, per platform rules.
If an account is terminated for ToS violations, remaining prepaid amounts are not refunded.
Perplexity may suspend accounts for legal compliance, security threats, non‑payment, or breach with commercially reasonable notice where applicable.
Either party may terminate for uncured material breach with 30 days’ written notice; Perplexity may also terminate on 30 days’ notice generally (effective after any prepaid period ends) or immediately if the provision of services would violate the law.
Upon deletion of the customer account and cessation of use, the enterprise agreement is deemed terminated, with surviving sections continuing as customary.
The Help Center includes Billing FAQs and a step‑by‑step cancellation guide accessible via the in‑product Manage Subscription link; invoices and plan changes are managed from the account page.
Perplexity Comet software meets established privacy and security compliance standards designed for enterprise and regulated data handling. It supports SOC2TypeII certification for organizational controls, aligns with GDPR for EU users, includes CCPA compliance for California residents, and offers enterprise options for HIPAA and data retention governance. The browser’s privacy notices and enterprise documentation detail local-first storage, encrypted transmission, admin visibility, and granular retention settings to satisfy modern data protection requirements.
