GoodData
بواسطة GoodData Corporation
GoodData is a privately held, AI-native data and analytics company that provides a full-stack data intelligence platform for building, embedding, and monetizing analytics and agentic AI applications. Headquartered in San Francisco with offices in the U.S. and Europe, it positions itself as a cloud analytics leader that turns data into governed, embedded intelligence wherever decisions are made.
GoodData’s platform spans BI, AI, and an Analytics Lake, giving customers an end-to-end stack for connecting data, modeling metrics, building dashboards, and deploying AI agents. The company reports serving over 140,000 businesses, more than 3–3.6 million users, and customers in 20+ countries, underlining its global reach and maturity as a cloud analytics provider.
GoodData was founded in 2007 by Czech entrepreneur Roman Stanek, who previously founded NetBeans (acquired by Sun Microsystems) and Systinet (acquired by HP). The company started as Good Data Corporation in Cambridge, Massachusetts, later relocating its headquarters to San Francisco and evolving from early cloud BI toward a modern composable analytics and AI platform.
GoodData has raised more than USD 100 million in venture and strategic financing across multiple rounds, including a Series E led by Intel Capital and prior participation from Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, and others. Strategic investors such as Visa and Zendesk have also taken stakes, reflecting confidence in GoodData’s role as an embedded analytics and data-intelligence backbone; secondary sources estimate total funding around USD 160+ million across equity and debt.
The flagship offering is a composable data intelligence platform built around three pillars: Business Intelligence (dashboards, headless BI, semantic layer), AI (agentic AI, AI Assistant, Smart Search, AI Hub/Lake), and Analytics Lake (DuckDB + Iceberg-based analytical storage). Key capabilities include multi-tenant analytics, reusable metric semantics, white-label and embedded dashboards, open APIs/SDKs, and governed AI agents that can be embedded into SaaS products and enterprise workflows.
In 2025, GoodData acquired Understand Labs, a specialist in data storytelling and agent-centric analytics, to deepen its narrative, explainable, and agentic capabilities. This acquisition accelerates GoodData’s roadmap for agent-driven analytics, enabling richer natural-language narratives, guided decision workflows, and more sophisticated agent experiences inside dashboards and data applications.
Recent press and product announcements highlight the launch of a full-stack agentic data intelligence platform with AI Lake, AI Hub, AI Assistant, and Smart Search, aimed at “AI beyond the dashboard.” GoodData is actively expanding features like FlexQuery for high-performance queries, Early Access AI features, and industry-focused agentic solutions (for example, for financial services), signaling a roadmap centered on production-grade, governed AI agents at scale.
GoodData’s stated mission is to turn data into secure, embedded intelligence and to enable organizations to become “analytical organizations” where analytics is woven into every decision. The company emphasizes composability, openness, and governance—framing AI as something that must be explainable, secure, and developer-friendly—reflecting a culture that balances innovation with enterprise-grade control and customer success.
GoodData serves a mix of software vendors, digital-native firms, and enterprises across finance, SaaS, HR, customer service, and other verticals, often powering embedded analytics in third-party products. Community signals—such as millions of end users, hundreds of customer stories, and active presence in industry analyst reports and reviews—suggest a broad ecosystem of developers and product teams who rely on GoodData for embedded BI and increasingly for agentic AI experiences.
