EZLease offers specialized software to automate compliance and simplify reporting under major lease accounting standards—ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87, and GASB 96. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, and operating globally under the insightsoftware banner, EZLease is trusted by private, public, and government organizations for both lessee and lessor accounting.
EZLease’s parent, insightsoftware, was founded in 2001 in Raleigh, North Carolina, initially aiming to transform enterprise financial reporting. Over two decades, insightsoftware evolved through internal development and strategic acquisitions, with EZLease (and its deep domain expertise in lease accounting) playing a key role in expanding the company's product suite in lease lifecycle management. EZLease has over 15 years of market presence, serving thousands of organizations and handling lease portfolios worth over $150 billion.
insightsoftware, now the parent of EZLease, has attracted significant private equity funding. As of 2024, it raised ~$801 million over multiple rounds, the latest in July 2021. These investments have fueled rapid growth, extensive acquisitions (including LeaseAccelerator and related lease management brands), and scale for global expansion. insightsoftware itself serves 32,000+ organizations worldwide.
EZLease is designed for fast deployment, regulatory compliance, and scalable automation. Key features include:
Centralized lease data management
Built-in compliance automation for ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87, GASB 96

insightsoftware’s 2024 acquisition of LeaseAccelerator was a pivotal move, integrating end-to-end lease lifecycle capability. This acquisition, along with previous additions like PureLease and LeaseController, significantly expanded the company’s lease offerings, providing unified platforms for lease accounting (EZLease), real estate administration, and asset lifecycle management. These acquisitions cement insightsoftware’s leadership in the Office of the CFO solution landscape.
Recent years saw the launch of EZLease Lessor, enhancing support for the lessor side of the lease equation. The platform now enables automation for all lease types (operating, finance, direct financing), compliance reporting, and increased operational scalability. Ongoing product roadmaps highlight continuous user-driven innovation, automation of new regulatory requirements, and deeper ERP/cloud integrations.
